Running From You.. (Schlattbur Story)

Chapter 7

 Wilbur’s POV

Techno had us stand behind a tree, far enough to where we wouldn’t get noticed. He turned around to us, “So you both remember the plan, correct?” I nodded my head, “Go up the podium to Schlatt and kill him,” I cringed at the words in my head. “I go out as a distraction to Schlatt, right? Then if people try to take my or kill me I fight back!” Tommy whisper-yelled in excitement. Techno smiled at us both, “Let’s do this.” He hopped down the hell we were on with ease, crossbow in one hand and a sword in the other. Tommy hopped down after him and slightly split up with him. I inhaled sharply, then hopped down the hill on a different side, running towards the back of the podium. I kept my eyes on my surroundings to see if there were any spies looking for us whilst we were there. 

I successfully made it to somewhere near the podium and kept a lookout for Technoblade and Tommy. I’ve yet to see them, but I know where they’re supposed to be so I’m sure I’ll be fine. I looked up at the podium to see someone walking around frantically. It’d been Schlatt. He knew what was going to happen, he just didn’t know when. I slightly felt bad that he’d planned so much for this and it’s going to fall apart. All because of me. 

I shook away my thoughts, now is not the time to be overthinking. I saw Techno signal his hands at me and I signaled back to show him I see him. He looked away once he saw my signal and kept his eyes on the people gathering near the podium, as well as the podium itself. I stared back up at Schlatt again. I took a shaky breath, thinking about possibilities. Techno could follow me up afterwards and they'd be caught. My thoughts wouldn't stop with bad things like that. I tried to ignore them but I couldn't.

I then got slightly unfocused as he heard a loud booming voice coming from the podium. I sat, listening to his voice.

Techno ran out into the crowd, going to sit down. I remembered that Techno had gotten invited to the festival, and Techno must have as well. I watched as Techno sat down, and then Tubbo walked up to the podium, announcing that the festival shall begin. Everyone scattered around in different directions.Tubbo had disappeared from the podium, and Tommy had disappeared to go and spy on people. Yet for me, I had to stay put. I had to keep my eye on Schlatt, basically at all times. Speaking of Schlatt, it appeared that he was walking around the podium, looking over the rails in different directions. He was.. looking for something? I was really confused on why.

It then clicked in my head. He was looking for me. I made a small gasp once I realized and wrapped myself around on the other side of the tree, in a direction where I could not see Schlatt, and he hopefully couldn't see me. I had my hands slightly on the tree, my chest constantly going up and down from breathing. I'm not too sure why I'm doing this, he already knows I'm supposed to be here. I guess just in case Tommy or Techno don't see me? Whatever.

Schlatt's POV

I could not find Wilbur. He was supposed to be here today. Was he actually going to kill me? I'm hoping he didn't lie to me. He's never really been a liar, but who knows at this point? 

I look off the side in another direction, hearing leaves move around. Maybe even getting stepped on? I also swore I saw a figure move around the tree. I wasn't sure, but maybe it's Wilbur! I couldn't call out for him because then he'd be noticed.. that's if he was even there. I sighed with relief, hoping he was there. I walked back near the front of the podium, not wanting to get caught. I noticed that Technoblade had actually shown up, which had surprised me. He'd gone to the dunk tank with everyone else. I had the urge to go down there and talk with them, but I stayed put to not ruin the plans. I was scared of what would happen after they ran away.. would they be chased? Where would they go? I sat down and put his hands in his hair. I was so scared, but I didn't want to admit it.
