Schlatt's POV

I'm almost positive that Wilbur doesn't have any idea of where he's going. He keeps stopping to look around, not a great sign. We're lost. Fucking hell. I take my blazer off.. yes I still had that on. It was slightly torn up now, no purpose in it. I loosen my tie from my neck, now just hanging. Wilbur stopped again and looked around, I just sighed.
He looks back at me, eyebrows furrowed, "What?" He definitely heard me. I wonder if he thought I was upset.
"We're clearly lost, you just won't admit it," I scoff. That was ruder than I had intended it to be.
"That's not true! I know exactly where we're going! I think.." He mumbled that last bit, thinking I wouldn't notice. I definitely heard him. I roll my eyes and take the lead instead. He tried to get in front of me, but I didn't let him. I put my arm out in front of him so he wouldn't get in front. He made a low groan when I did that. I tried my best to not stifle a laugh, which I succeeded. I walked up a hill to get a better view of the area. I realized we just walked in a circle. I could see Manberg..
"God damnit." I mumble. Wilbur walked up behind me, confused, then realized.
"Shit," he said as he realized.
"This should at least make it easier to find Niki's bunker.. I know the direction from here," he thought out loud.
I nod in response and slide down off the hill and he does the same. I allowed him to go in front and take the lead this time, but I wasn't very far behind. He didn't look confused anymore, so I thought I'd actually be able to trust him this time with directions.

It wasn't long after Wilbur remembered he had a communicator from L'manburg times. Apparently they still carried those on them. Not a bad idea, especially because they all seem quite close with each other. I look at the side of him, sense I'm a bit short to see over his shoulder. The communicator was interesting. It had all these small stickers with a special charm on it. Wilbur's communicator had a little guitar. The screen was a bit cracked and the screws looked like they would fall out any second. I could tell he was focused on it, deeming it a response. I watched his face light up as.. dots and lines popped up on the screen? They used Morse code? Wilbur's smarter than I thought he was. He quickly typed back then tapped a few keys, a hidden flap popping out. He slipped out a compass from it and closed it back. He looked up again, looking around the area, glancing at the compass. He looks up once more and points in a direction.
"Niki said she's that way."
My brows furrowed.
"We have to walk through Manberg? Like almost to the other fucking side?" I look up at him. He looks back at me and chuckles.
"It's 'your' country. What harm could it be?" He responded with that sly smile. I knew he was messing with me. He definitely knew how much harm it could be.
"You jackass," I responded and started walking in the direction he pointed to.
"Schlatt! You need me for directions, you know that." He jogged up to catch up with me. I only scoff. I was stubborn and he knew that. This is his fault.
"C'mon Schlatt! We need to plan it out before we do anything," he whines. It was ticking me off.
"Wilbur we will be fucking fine, alright? Like you said, 'What harm could it be?'" I spat back at him. He looked offended. Hurt, even. I could care less at the time. Meaning I did care, but who gives a shit?

I continued off in the direction, him following closely behind me.
"Schlatt are you s-"
"Yes, Wilbur, I'm sure," I quickly cut him off. I knew he was a worrier. He exhales heavily to calm himself looking around anxiously, just in case. I glance back at him and then the compass in his hand.
"Oh- um- we need to go west. Here-" He hands him the compass. It also had a small crack in it and it was dirty. I'll offer to fix it later.

I turn my head back forward, stopping for a moment. I look at the compass, shifting my direction slightly. I continue to walk again, tilting my head back up.

Wilbur's POV

I looked frightened. Very frightened. Not the townspeople, but Techno and Tommy. If they saw him with Schlatt it would make everything plummet. All of the "what ifs" were going through his head, or at least as much he could think of. They could cause so many things. I stayed close behind Schlatt. I'm not sure why. Protection, possibly? I don't know myself. Schlatt seemed quite upset with me. His tone was cold and stern. His face didn't seem any happier. I don't understand what I did, nor do I understand why his emotions switch so quickly. I'm hoping to figure it out soon enough.

I continued to glance around the land. I saw a few people running around, but I couldn't make out who. I had moved next to Schlatt so they weren't able to see him. Schlatt only gave me a confused glare. I didn't bother to explain to him what I was doing or why, I just stayed silent, and so did he. I felt awkward as we stayed in silence. I wanted to talk to him. Problem was, he still seemed so angry. I had no clue why. No matter, we were almost fully across Manberg now. I was beginning to worry less. I got back behind Schlatt since we were nearing the edge of Manberg. That's when he stopped and I accidentally ran into him, whispering sorry and then cursing at myself. I got myself together and looked up to see why he stopped. I saw Golden brown fluff over Schlatt's shoulder.

"..Wilbur?"
