Running From You.. (Schlattbur Story)

Chapter 13

Schlatt's Pov 

Wilbur just scoffed, baffled by my response. He stood back up straight, moving away from me. "I'm gonna go do something productive like Niki said. You should too," he spoke as he strolled to the door. I just nodded, waving him out of the room. He disappeared and I changed out of my torn and dismembered clothing. It was getting too uncomfortable.

Once I changed, I looked back in the mirror making sure I looked fine. I made a small smile at myself before walking out of the room as well. I noticed Niki talking with Wilbur once more, but I didn't pay any mind to it this time. I continued to walk on, figuring out something to do. That was until I felt a vibration in my pocket. I pulled it out, it was my communicator. I was surprised I still had it. It only had a few cracks on the screen and one of the screws on the back were falling out, nothing too bad.

I leaned against the wall, going to the notification. It was from Tubbo?

"WHERE ARE YOU?? YOU STUPID SHIT, TECHNO IS COMING AFTER YOU!" I stared at that message and looked around cautiously. I knew I couldn't reply to that, he would probably rat me out. I exhaled heavily and stuffed the communicator back into my pocket. 

I shuffled away from where I was, putting my hand on the back of my neck. I had to start thinking of what to do before hell happened. Again. I was wondering if I should tell Wilbur, as he is the only one I trust right now. 

I decided to just go out for a moment, away from people. I had to get there strategically because of Wilbur and Niki being near the entryway. I sighed heavily, peering around a corner at them. I crouch down, watching their movements. Their backs were turned from me, a perfect moment for me to go. I did a sprint, at least as much as I could while being crouched down.

I made it to the other side, making a soft exhale. I shuffled out of the door. I glanced behind me before closing my eyes and looking forward once more. I began walking off, putting my hood up to be more hidden. My horns didn't make that easy, but it was definitely something. 

I started out walking, but that eventually turned into a jog, and then to a sprint. It felt nice with the saturated, forest air against my face. It was a reliever, really. 

After running for a good few minutes or so, I skirted to a stop next to a log and a river. I sat down, watching the river skim along. I had very clearly forgotten how beautiful nature was. I made a soft smile, resting my head in my hand. I closed my eyes, relaxing.

Until I heard a yell. My ears perked up in alert, my body standing up in sync. I glanced behind me where the yell came from, a group of figures being there. "Shit," I muttered under my breath before pulling myself behind a tree. 

My hands were now balled into fists, my whole body staying alert. I heard voices spitting words at each other angrily. My breath became heavy as I attempted to listen to their words. It was hard, as there were multiple muttering at the same time. I was feeling sweat drip along my face as they grew closer to where I was.

I was stuck.

Wilbur's Pov

Niki had just left after explaining things that I could do around the base. They were pretty boring, but I was willing to help. Some of these things were a two person job, so I thought I would find Schlatt. Niki was too busy with her own thing that she was doing, so why not?

I treaded up the stairs and reached the room Schlatt was in. I knocked on it before opening. No response. I cracked it open and peeked in, a lifeless room there. I opened the door fully, looking around at everything still. I guess I would have to find him some place else.

Before I left, I did notice Schlatt's clothes he had been wearing there, so he must've gone to do something. I checked every room that had been in that hall to no avail. No problem, there were plenty of rooms to check. 

I began to worry as I hadn't found him after checking almost the whole base. I went to Niki, asking if she had seen him at all. She just shook her head sadly, making me more anxious. That's when I started running around and calling out his name frantically. There was no avail, he would've come around by now. He definitely left the base without either of us knowing. 

I ran to the front of the base, grabbed my coat and pulled it on, then ran out.

 I had to find him.

Schlatt's Pov

They were chasing me. They were full on chasing me. I dodged through the trees, jumped over roots and ducked under vines. I was out numbered, I would sure as hell get cornered. There was Fundy, Tubbo, Techno, and even Quackity after me. I was surprised that Tommy wasn't brought along, but I couldn't focus on that now. 

They were yelling things at me, most likely to bring me down and give up. I'm not as stupid as they think I am, which does say a lot I think. 

I came up to a low branch, swinging my arms up and grabbing onto it, pulling myself up. I began hopping branch to branch, carefully making sure the branch wasn't too thin for my weight. I looked behind me, them losing track of me as they tried following me in the trees. I took it as an opportunity to jump back down and continue to run.

That's when I ran into someone. I thought it was someone like Techno, but once I looked up it had been that one man with the caramel curls.

The man himself, Wilbur Soot.
