Schlatt's POV

Wilbur was swaying happily as he walked. He was a ball of joy, I despised it. He wasn't smiling, his face was just blank. I thought it was weird due to the happy movements. The ways his arms swayed, the placements of his footing, his hip movements, and even the movement of his torso. I suppose I was just over-analyzing his actions once more. In all honesty, he looked like he was doing a slow dance. Maybe it was? Wilbur did eventually get tired and stopped swaying around walking normally again. He fixed the beanie on his head, glancing around the forest quickly. His eyes couldn't avert to one place, unlike mine. My eyes stayed on him. I watched every little movement he made, though it sounds weird. He must've felt my eyes on him eventually because his eyes glanced back behind him, looking at me. He made a concerned smile at me, my eyes only narrowing. He backed off and looked away. I was expecting a sparky remark back, but I surprisingly didn't receive one.

The rest of the way, we were silent the whole time. It was a calm silence, just listening to faint animals making noises, the leaves crunching beneath our feet, and the leaves clashing with one another through the wind. Wilbur noticed they had finally arrived, seeing Niki's blonde hair contest with the hard, cold rock of a mountain behind her. She eventually heard their footsteps, glancing over and smiling at Wilbur. Wilbur instantly beamed a smile right back at her while I just rolled my eyes and stuffed my hands in my pockets. I let them do their little 'exciting' meet-up as I stood there, yawning. They didn't seem to acknowledge me, so it didn't matter. It felt like hours of them rambling to each other as we stood there, though. It honestly pissed me off. Once they finally finish with their stupid shit, Niki took us inside. It wasn't complete, but it looked nice nonetheless. She had hanging lights, a nice garland-like area, and even a waterfall. I looked around, astonished. I brushed my hand against the wall. It was surprisingly smooth, but had a rough-like texture when looking at it. I knew Wilbur had already been here before, so he didn't seem as amazed as I was. She took us to a different section of her base, which I assumed the first section was more-so of storage and entry. This second half was more of a homey area. It contained plenty of rooms for a few visitors if needed. She guided us to a room, since she didn't want to have the trouble of us having separate rooms. Neither of us protested anyways. She showed us everything that we needed to know while we stayed there, and eventually went on her way. She had business to do, which I assume was the war that was going on. Guess I blew past that happening. Wilbur tossed off his coat, a somewhat tight, plain white shirt underneath. It outlined some features of him. He looked fairly nice in it. Niki had placed a new pair of glasses on the bedside table due to Wilbur's being rusted and the lenses being cracked. He took off and folded his old ones, picking up the new ones and unfolded them, putting them against his nose. These glasses were more round, and I thought they fit him better. He folded his coat up, whilst in the middle of doing so, he glanced over to me. "You've been staring at me almost the whole time. Something on your mind?" He made a smile at me, glancing at the coat ever so often as he folded it. That startled me, "No. Nothing at all. I've got no thoughts, none at all." I smiled at him sheepishly. He shrugged, nodding his head and tossed his coat on the bed. He seemed like he wouldn't complain with my reply, which I was glad for. He swept his hair slightly to the side, looking at me.

"Are you going to keep standing there, or are you going to change out of that uncomfortable dress wear?" He spoke as he glanced down at my feet, pants, and shirt. I looked down at myself. My white shirt was slightly stained, my tie a mess, my hands in my pockets with a cracked watch along the wrist, and some dress shoes. Not fitting for our situation apparently. I rolled my eyes, "Fine, I supposed I will." He only beamed a grin at me, walking towards me and undid my tie fully, taking it off of my neck. He stepped back towards the bed, folding the tie neatly. I sneered at him, pulling off my shoes and tossing them near the door. They were all muddy now, not very 'dress-like' anymore. He walked out of the room to allow me to do his business, "I'm off to do a stroll. Call my name if I'm needed." I only nodded in response, going off and doing my own business. I took a quick shower to get the dirt off me, and then changed my clothes to something comfortable, but not too comfortable to where I looked impolite. I messed with my hair for a moment. It didn't look the best because it was still wet, but it was good enough. I decided to go off and find Wilbur to see whatever he was doing at the moment. I sprinted off down the corridor, going back to the entryway of the cave. I looked over to the floral-like area and noticed him down at the water, poking a lilypad with a stick like an idiot. I trudged down the stone steps, finding my way next to him and looked down. He eventually looked up at me, smiling once my face came into his view.

"Hi Schlatt! Care to join me?" He sat down fully, no longer crouching and crossed his legs the best he could. I nodded, crouching down and sitting next to him, staring out into the clear water, a blue tone to it. He glanced at his side, an off-white milkweed next to him. He picked it, analyzing the petals and what other features it must've had that intrigued him. He held it out for me, which I took gracefully. I laid back, Wilbur's jacket had been there, so I knew I wouldn't mess up my hair once more. I closed my eyes, exhaling softly. Wilbur laid back next to me.

"We're at peace for once, aren't we?"

"I think so, loverboy."
