The clack of keys on a keyboard finally dwindled as Nikei finished the article he was working on. "...There. That should be good enough," he muttered to himself, scanning his article one last time to catch small errors, but finding none. "I'll just hurry and post this, then I can rest."

Nikei posted his finished article onto his website, 'The Mercury Times,' and finally stood up from his desk. He yawned as he stretched, and then he turned towards the bedroom door and walked to the kitchen to see if he could grab something to eat before bed. He wasn't surprised to see that Mikado had come into the dorm again and was stirring something in a pot in the kitchen. He wore a pair of pyjamas with a sun pattern all over them.

"Hey, Mikado. You cooking anything right now?" Nikei asked curiously, knowing that Mikado liked giving his boyfriend and girlfriend some free samples of whatever he was making. It was already evening, supper had passed, but having small snacks didn't hurt.

"No, nothing at the moment. Just melting some chocolate bars for hot chocolate. I'll make you one too, but Setsuka is too sleepy to want one right now," the wizard explained, giving the pot another few stirs. "Could you get a couple mugs for us, and some milk too?"

"Sure, I'll do that," the journalist replied, and he walked over to the dorm's cupboard to get what he wanted. In Nikei's opinion, the dorm was too small to be a proper living space to three people, especially with all the cutlery they needed. He would have to bring it up with Mikado and Setsuka later.

He put the mugs and milk beside Mikado, and watched as the wizard poured the melted chocolate equally into the cups, then poured the milk in. After stirring both mugs with a spoon, using his magic to heat up the mixture, he passed one mug to Nikei. "Careful, it's hot."

Nikei took the mug from him and went to the dorm's table to sit down. As he sipped the hot chocolate, he gazed to the frosted-up window and wondered how cold it was outside. A few months had passed since he began dating Setsuka and Nikei, and a thick layer of snow had piled up on the ground since then. Mikado was thoroughly adamant on not going outside, but Setsuka was more than excited to go out and build snowmen or make snow angels. Nikei was indifferent to both opinions, he had work to do.

"Did you finish your article?" Mikado asked out of the blue, catching Nikei's attention. "I had an idea, if you're up for it."

"This better not involve me ending up in a sling for a week again," the journalist grumbled, "but what is it?"

"What was that reaction? I don't think sleeping in one room will harm anyone, unless one of us is a restless sleeper," Mikado joked, putting his empty mug in the sink. "My idea was that Setsuka, you, and I all sleep in the same bed tonight. It's something we've never tried before, so it won't hurt to try, right?"

Nikei thought about it for a moment, then let out a sigh. "Fine, I'll try it. No promises that I'm going to do it again," he grumbled.

"Of course not. If this doesn't work for us, it'll be a one-time thing. If you're finished your hot chocolate," Mikado gestured to his empty mug lying in the sink, "put it in the sink, and I'll wash the mug tomorrow morning."

Nikei downed the rest of his hot chocolate and went over to the sink. "Just give me a little bit to change into my pyjamas, since Setsuka's gonna get on my case if I sleep in my clothes again," he explained, depositing his mug and going back to his room to change clothes. When that was done, Mikado escorted him to Setsuka's room, knocking on the door before entering.

Setsuka sat on the bed and had been reading a mystery novel. Her undone hair fell to her waist, and she wore a loose t-shirt and shorts as pyjamas. When she looked up from her book, she smiled when she saw her boys. "Hey, nice seeing you! Do you need something?" she asked.
