Twenty Nine

"James I need you to do something for me, you too Peter." 

"What is doing if not consequences being of good outcome?" James responded, pulling at a fray stitch in his robes. 

"Um- Peter then, I need you to do something for me." 

"Yeah shoot." 

"Ok well it's the full moon tonight, basically just distract Sirius when I leave?" 

"Oh sure Moony, I was gonna do that anyway." He rolled his eyes, like it was the most obvious thing in the world and he wasn't being asked to distract one of the most hyper-active people any of them had ever met...apart from James maybe. 

Sirius and Remus, being the good friends they are, haven't exactly spent a whole day apart since Sirius arrived a couple months ago, that's why the full moon was going to be so disruptive as who wouldn't notice such a blip the routine? Remus was going to have to make up a pretty good excuse and he only had the better part of the day to do it. Procrastination sucks ass. 

"What you doing?" Sirius asked, trotting down from the dorm steps. 

"I- uh- we were- um- haha- well-" 

"Revision for the astronomy test coming up." Peter looked at Remus astounded. James was about to but his hands in the fire. 

"Oh fire, how do you live so touch starved and repulsed, do you ever wish for the hug of a school boy or the company of a school girl, a two sided conversation. You live so alone yet bring light and warmth to those around you? Poor poor fire...I will grant your wish in gratitude-" 

"JAMES! What the hell  is going on with you!?" Lily threw a quill at his head-knocking him out of  a trance. 

"CONQUEST!" He leaped up, charging head first out of the common room. 

"AH!" Someones strained voice yelped from out in the hallway. 

"Oooo poopy potty potter is going loooooopy as luuupin!" 

"Ugh I have having quite a nice Peeves-free time you know." Remus groaned, getting up to see who James had rammed over.    

"Oh shit- Sybil are you alright? What are you doing up at Gryffindor tower-" He echoed from the corridor.

Sybil Trelawney, a second year Ravenclaw with rather curly hair, rumoured a seer and enjoys grunting at her food. 

"Dumbledore- oof-" She got up, "Dumbledore wants to see the challengers." 

"Oh ok well I can let them know- James do not touch her foot!" 

"I- I am going to leave now." She said concerned, already speeding down the stairs.

"REMUS YOU KNOW WHAT I JUST REALISED?" 

"WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING?" 

"IF YOU'RE ALL GRRRR AND STUFF AND SIRIUS IS ALL STAREY AND STUFF- YOU GUYS ARE WOLFSTAR!" 

"James we are in the corridor you wanker!" 

"I didn't wank what are you-" 

Remus cast a silencing spell around the flailing boy and watched as his mouth moved far too quickly for his liking. He then left. Leaving James alone, still on the floor, grumbling something along the lines of twat.  

He was met with a tornado of firey hair the second he got back in the common room. 

Christ I'm like a ice cream truck right now. 

"Who did he hit? Are they alright? Should I go check just in case you missed something? Yes, yes I think I should, thank you Remus you're right!" Lily nodded, busting out of the portrait hole no doubt to find James screaming in fascination as nobody reacted around him.
