Hinata came out of the bathroom as soon as Kageyama had put away his diary.
Much to his luck.
The both wordlessly had made up some sort of routine to get ready for bed. The raven haired had showered first, after spending time with the rest of the team at the beach. Of course, doing what they all loved with a passion, playing volleyball. And they had spent the best time together, all of them reeking of sweat as they walked back to the hotel. Everyone was free to go anywhere for dinner, as long as it was near the place and with another teammate. Kageyama and Hinata had gone out to eat with Tanaka, Noya and Asahi.
"Hey." Hinata said softly, drying his hair with a smaller towel, the big one hanging loose around his waist.
His chest is exposed, and for being a rather short teenage boy, Hinata is actually toned. The slight abs were visible, his v-line looked like it was out of an art sculpture. His collarbone weren't all that marked, but Kageyama could see their outline, his arms looked somehow strong. Kageyama looked away, his face turned red at that very second.
Hinata noticed, grinning to himself.
Is Kageyama... blushing?
The smaller boy couldn't understand why that made him feel good, but it did. He sat next to the raven haired on the bed, still with just his towel on, the smaller towel on his shoulders. He nudged Kageyama's side once... twice.
"What do you want, dumbass?" The boy snaps, softly, turning to look at Hinata.
Their faces are merely inches away.
Both of them blush intensely. Kageyama didn't think Hinata was this close to him, and Hinata didn't think Kageyama would turn to look at him. Both of them were left with wide eyes, breath hitched.
His face is so close... If only I could-
Hinata instead tapped the other boy's nose, with such nonchalance. It made the raven haired's blush an even deeper shade of red. The shorter one stood up, taking his clothes and heading to the bathroom to change. Kageyama was left with his mind in a mess and his stomach in a whirl.
That's it, I need to talk to Suga.
Kageyama took out his phone, dialing Suga's number. It beeped three times before the boy answered.
"Hey, Kageyama! Everything alright?"
"Sugawara-senpai, are you... uh, are you busy?"
"Just got back to the room with Daichi, is something wrong?"
"Can I go to your room? I need advice on something." Kageyama felt embarrassed to say it outloud, but he needed nothing more than Suga's help as of now.
"Sure, room 102."
Kageyama hung up almost immediately, putting his phone in his pocket and rushed out. He walked down the hallway, getting to the designated room, and knocked on its door. Daichi was the one to open the door.
"Hi Kageyama."
"Hi, Daichi." Kageyama waved at him. The captain allowed him to come inside, and the boy immediately took a seat on the edge of the bed.
"So, what's up?" Suga says, taking a chair and sitting in front of the boy.
"Well, uh-" The raven haired stopped himself.
I don't even know what to say here.
"How do you know if you like someone?" He chose to simply spit it out.
Suga and Daichi sure weren't expecting that. Normally, Kageyama would only come to them for volleyball advice or help in school work. Something of the sort, yet now, Suga thinks that his friendship with Kageyama is beyond volleyball. The raven haired holds respect for his upperclassmen, especially Sugawara. And just by coming to them for advice, it made the grey haired's lips grow into a kind smile.
