"That place looks nice, should we go there?"
Hinata pulled on Kageyama's arm, pointing at the nice restaurant he was talking about. The place was in between some closed shops, it looked a bit small, not that crowded. It looked like a nice place to eat, the raven haired figured it would be a good choice to eat there.
"Sure." He answered, and both boys started walking to it.
They were sat down on table besides the windows of said place. Kageyama scanned the menu, looking for something to eat. He had to admit that he was starving, but with so many options, it was hard to only choose one.
"What're you gonna order, Kageyama?"
The raven haired still scanned the menu, landing on one good option.
"I think I-"
"Good evening! Is everyone ready to order?" The waitress said, wearing a big smile on her face. Kageyama looked up at her, and so did Hinata.
"Yeah, I'll have the..."
Both of them ordered their food, and thanked the waitress as she left to bring their drinks.
"This place it really cool." Hinata says with a smile, looking at Kageyama, who was staring out the huge window.
"Yeah, I like it." Kageyama says looking back at Hinata, only to find him already staring. The raven haired's cheeks go red at the sight of Hinata smiling at him. The shorter's smile turns into a grin.
"Are you nervous, Kageyama?" Hinata asks, seemingly genuine.
Kageyama's blush is more visible now, and he tries to hide his face.
"No I'm not, moron." He mumbles, looking out the window once more.
"You are~"
"Shut up, you-"
"Alrighty! Here are your drinks!"
The waitress says with a smile. Handing Hinata his soda, and handing Kageyama his iced tea. Both boys say thank you, and the waitress leaves once more. The boys get into a comfortable conversation, which mainly includes volleyball, but also school, and even personal lives as each of their foods arrives.
"So, are you an only child?" Kageyama asks Hinata, having already talked about the raven haired's family a bit.
"Nope! I have a baby sister named Natsu. She's very bubbly."
"A girl version of you then?"
"Shut up, Bakayama." Hinata glares at the boy as Kageyama simply smirks to himself, looking down at his food.
"And what about your parents?" Kageyama asks.
Hinata goes quiet, and his face looks paler than usual. The smile once always present is not there anymore, and Kageyama notices. Maybe mentioning parents wasn't his best idea.
"I shouldn't have asked I'm-"
"It's fine!" Hinata says, looking up at Kageyama, meeting his eyes. The orange haired looked a little sad, there was so much behind his beautiful brown eyes that Kageyama wanted to know all about. And he wished to know more and more.
Dinner with Hinata has to become something usual.
"My dad left two years back, so it's only my mom, Natsu and me. My mom started working extra hours to get enough money to pay for school. I help her making part-time jobs or helping her at her job. Natsu spends most of the time at my Grandma's." Hinata explains, never looking up from his plate.
"I'm-"
Pause.
What do I say? I don't want Hinata to think I pity him by saying sorry.
