"I was looking forward to this. To winning to see the look on your face. To see the look on your face when you've lost. It's funny really because I did this whole volleyball thing for you. I wanted you to come to my games. Every single one of them. I'd wait to see if you'd show up. You never did though. I thought maybe if I got really good at volleyball. Maybe if I was successful at something he'd show up. That maybe if I did something good he'd love me. That he'd care about me. You liked volleyball so I wanted to impress you. To get your attention." I say gripping my water bottle and tears falling down my cheeks.
He just looks at me shocked. "When I'm finally happy and have accepted the fact that I'd never see you. That I didn't matter to you. That you wanted nothing to do with me you just appear. It's not fair. Not only that you're excited to tear me down and apart just makes things worse. I don't want anything to do with you because you make my life hell. All of the mental bullshit I put myself through." I say. He steps forward and goes to touch me. "I'm sorry." He says. I push his hand away.
"I DON'T NEED YOUR PITY!" I shout. "You were never there for me so just spare me!" I say. I wipe my face and walk off angrily. "This is so stupid why did I agree to any of this." I say. I just go outside and sit on the steps. I finally stop crying and clean my face up. Kuroo comes out and I don't look at him. He sits next to me.
"I don't want you to see me like this." I say. "Then I won't look at you. I'll just sit here with you till you feel better and then some. I won't say a word." He says. He holds my hand and I hold his back. "I'm sorry for being a downer." I say. "It's okay. Everybody goes through stuff. This is something you needed to feel better so it's okay. Today was good. It was a good match. I got to kiss you and you became my girlfriend. Also I got to rub it in your ex's face that I have the best girlfriend in the world. Now I get to sit here with you. Even though I know I can't do much for you at the moment I can at least sit with you and listen if you need someone to talk to." He says.
"Thank you." I say and lean my head on his shoulder. "It's no problem princess." He says and kisses the top of my head. "Ready to go home?" He asks. I nod. "Wanna hold hands?" He asks. "Mhm." I say. We hold hands as he walks me home.
He gets us icecream on the way. "I was thinking do you think your grandpa would mind if we dated? Should I ask for his blessing or something like that? Even though we are dating already." He asks. "I think he'd like it." I say. We get to the front door and I unlock it. "He's probably in the backyard." I say we go to the backyard. "Grandpa, Kuroo has something to ask you I'm gonna put my stuff up." I say.
Kuroo's POV
She walks off. "Yes what is it?" He says. "I was wondering if I could have your blessing to date (Y/n)." I say. He's thinking. "You are a good kid. You walk her home every day to make sure she's safe. You've got good manners. Plus you ask for my blessing. You're much better than that Kageyama boy. I suppose so as long as you respect her and treat her well it's fine." He says. "Thank you." I say.
Your POV
I put my things up. I have a feeling I'm going to be seeing more of him. More than I'd like. The doorbell rings. I go get it. It's coach. "Hi coach." I say. "Hello (Y/n) I came to have a word with you then that old crazy crow." He says.
"Okay." I say and let him in. He sits on the couch. "We heard your little conversation with your father from the gym." He says. "Sorry." I say taking a seat next to him. "How are you doing?" He asks.
"I'm not really sure. It felt nice winning but confronting him broke me down. I'm stronger than this it's just I don't know what's going on." I say. "Showing your emotions doesn't make you weak. You're only human and that means you have feelings. Sometimes they come out or they slip from your grasp. Although every once in awhile it's okay to let those negative emotions out. Keeping your walls and guard up 24/7 can be exhausting so it's best to just relax and take some time to breathe. What you've been through can't be healed over night." He says. "I know." I say looking down. "Then you should apply it. Knowledge isn't meant to be pushed to the side. Now where is that old crow at." He says. "In the garden." I say.
He gets up and pats my head. "You'll be okay. You're with Nekoma now so you're in good hands." He says with a smile. I smile softly. "Hi coach." Kuroo says. "Kuroo you have explaining to do with the boys I'm sure they're very curious. Also try to keep your mind on practice and games that goes for the both of you." He says and walks towards the garden.
"Yes sir." We say. He comes and sits next to me. "Hi." He says. "Hey." I say. "So now we are officially going out got the approval and everything." He says.
"That's good I'm glad." I say with a slight smile. "Ooooo" He says. "What?" I ask. "I saw a smile." He says poking my cheek. "Yeah." I say. "I make you happy don't I like a lot." He says continuing to poke with a smile. "Yes very I'm glad that you came to comfort me." I say.
