Falling For You - Chapter 13

MONDAY MORNING

Jason’s POV

When I got to school, Axel was standing by my locker with a small smile on his face. My hands started to sweat immediately when I remembered what happened on Thursday. I walked over to my locker and Axel said, “Hey man, what’s up?”

I looked at him with a surprised look and he started to laugh at me, “Calm down man, I’m not mad at you for what happened on Thursday and I’m not gonna kill you. If I did, my sister would murder me.”

At the mention of Adelaide, I turn to him and ask, “Hey Axel, does your sister like meadows?”

“Yeah, they’re one of her favorite places to be, especially when they’re open and have a lot of sunlight.”

Smiling, I said, “Okay, tell her to be ready for me to pick her up at 6 tonight.”

I grabbed my books out of my locker and started to walk away when Axel called out to me, “What are you doing with my sister tonight Freedman?”

I turned around and said with the biggest smile on my face, “I’m going to finally do something for me Branson, I’m going to make things right.”

Adelaide’s POV

I was going to my first period class when I saw Axel running down the stairs, trying to reach me. He looked excited and in a rush. Because he wasn’t paying attention, he missed the last 2 steps of the flight of stairs and he slipped and fell on his back. He slid down the stairs as everyone turned to see what happened. Some girls freaked out and tried to run over to him, but some guys from the football team pushed them back because they saw me walking towards him. I started laughing the second I saw how he was on the floor. He end up landing on his back and I knew he was fine because he falls down the stairs almost everyday. He had a lost and defeated look on his face and I thought it was the funniest thing ever. As I was laughing, some of the “girls” from Axel’s fan club pushed their way through the guys and one of them sneered at me and said, “How dare you laugh at Axel on the floor!! Look at the poor baby, he’s hurt.”

She pouted as she looked at him, but the second he turned his attention to her, her expression turned seductive and she tried to bend down to help him. I grabbed her arm and yanked her up and I may or may not have pulled her arm out of her socket. 

“Don’t you dare go near my brother you slut.” I spit at her. I’m guessing she saw the look on my face and heard about what I did to Roxanne, because she ran out of there as quickly as her stripper shoes allowed her to, her posse right on her tail. 

I turned back to Axel and asked him, “What was the rush dude? You had a total wipeout.”

“I know smartass, but I had to tell you what Jason just told me.”

Hearing Jason’s name I instantly perk up and my face gets a little heated.

“Calm down Ads, he told me to tell you to make sure you’re dressed to go out with him at 6 tonight.”

Trying to play it cool, I said, “Oh okay, thanks Axel.”

I turned and practically ran to the closest girls’ bathroom. When I got in there, I quickly texted Bella and Zoe, telling them to come to the 2nd floor girls’ bathroom. 5 minutes later, they came running through the door, both of them out of breath and red in the face. 

“What is it? What happened?” Zoe asks me frantically. 

“Guys, I think Jason is going to ask me out today..” I said sheepishly, trying to hide my excitement.
