This is so overdue and I'm so sorry!! Don't hate me for not updating sooner but I've been crazy busy! I hope you all enjoy this epilogue!~5 years later~
Adelaide's POV
It's been 5 years since Jason asked me to be his girlfriend, 5 years full of love, laughing, passion, and friendship. Jason has become not only my best friend, but he's the one I want to spend the rest of my life with. Zoe, Bella and I stayed best friends after graduation and while Jason and I both ended up in UCLA, me studying to be a psychologist, him studying to be a surgeon, Bella went and joined Axel at University of Alabama, where she's studying to be a prosecutor in criminal law and Axel is studying to be a biochemist (whatever that means). Zoe and her brother Liam didn't end up going to the same schools as us. Liam's at MSU, studying to be a vet one day and Zoe's at NYU, studying to be an architect.
These past 5 years have also been some of the best years of my life and today, I'm graduating college with the love of my life next to me.
"Ads! Where are you?!" I hear Jason yell from the other side of our apartment.
"I'm in here babe, what's up?" I ask.
"Nothing I just wanted to know how much longer until you're ready." He said, leaning on the door, a lazy grin on his face as he watched me put on mascara.
"Well I'm pretty much done, so we can leave now if you want?" I asked him as he wrapped his arms around my waist.
"Sure babe, lets go."
Walking hand in hand, we went down to the garage and got into one of our two cars that we've had since we were teenagers. We took Jason's and he drove to UCLA's football stadium, which is where the graduation will be held. All the graduates were supposed to wear white, since we didn't get gowns, we only got graduation caps, which were also white. I wore a white dress that was a bodycon and had cutout bows all down the back. I also wore white heels and my dark hair was curled to perfection, courtesy of one of my friends that I met in college, her name was Jasey and she was studying to be a cosmetologist, so she did my hair and some of my makeup. My hair was parted right down the middle and it was curled in soft waves that cascaded down my back and I had a light smokey eye with a pink lipstick. I had gotten much tanner since coming to LA and that also lightened my hair a bit, showing off red tinted highlights I didn't know I had. Jason was wearing a white suit, but he didn't wear a jacket and he just the button up. His hair was styled in a quiff and he had also gotten tanner since college. He played football all throughout college and he got offers from the NFL, but he refused because he wanted to be a doctor more than anything else. I supported him through that because he was getting a lot of pressure to play football professionally from his coach and some of his teammates. After he explained to them that football wasn't his only passion, they all understood and his coach is one of his closest friends and is like a father figure to him.
As we parked the car and started walking to the entrance, I heard yelling going on behind me. I turned around and I saw Zoe, Axel, Bella, Liam, my parents, and Jason's parents. I screamed and ran as fast as I could in my heels as Zoe and Bella ran and we met in the middle. The guys were laughing and greeted each other and then we met in a group hug. I hadn't seen any of them since spring break in Cabo San Lucas, which was the most fun we've ever had. After getting untangled from my friends who might as well be my family, I went over to the parents. Over the years, Jason's parents became my second family and I love them as much as I love my own. I greeted them and then hugged my own parents. "Where's the twins?" I asked my mom.
"They're at camp and then spending the summer on the East Coast." She said.
I nodded and then turned to my dad, "Daddy!!" Laughing he opened his arms for me, "My baby girl is getting so old."
After saying hello to everyone, I went back to Jason's side, where he entwined our hands and kissed my cheek, "I never told you how beautiful you looked today," he said looking down at me with adoration and love in his eyes. I blushed and leaned my head on his chest, him laughing at my red cheeks. I slapped his chest playfully and looked back up to my happy family, smiling from ear to ear.
We all walked into the stadium and Jason and I sat next to one another while our family sat close to the front. The whole ceremony was kind of long and boring until it got to the speaker. Our speaker was Steven Spielberg, which was pretty awesome because he's one of Jason's idols. One of the best things he said was, "You have many years ahead of you to create the dream that we can't even imagine dreaming.." I love it so much because it reminds me that we have to power to do whatever we want and to make whatever changes we can. Anything is possible.
When they were reading the names, I got more nervous and excited. Nervous because I was graduating college. But I'm excited because I couldn't wait to explore the world. When they called my name, my family yelled and whooped and Jason yelled, "ADELAIDE I LOVE YOU!!" Which made me blush and made all the guys wolf whistle. When Jason went up there, I did the same thing, which made him blush and all the girls laughed.
After the graduation, I was talking to a bunch of my friends near the stage, when Jason got on the stage and grabbed a microphone. I looked up at him and I saw he had a nervous look on his face.
"I would like to call Adelaide Branson up to the stage please," he shakily said.
I walked up to the stage and he turned to me and held my hand. "Adelaide, for five years now, you've made me the happiest man alive. You've loved me, taken care of me, laughed with me, made fun of me, cried with me, and lived with me. I'm the luckiest man and I wake up with a smile everyday knowing that I have you and I can call you my girlfriend."
I giggled like I always did when he said stuff like that, but then I noticed that he paused and had a serious look on his face, "I don't want to call you my girlfriend anymore Ads." He said firmly, making me and everyone else in the stadium gasp, whispers could be heard everywhere.
I shed a tear and waited for him to continue speaking, terrified of what he was going to say next. Was he really going to throw away what we had built on our graduation?
"I want to be able to call you my wife, Adelaide Bay Branson, will you do me the incredible honor of becoming my wife?"
