ABOVE IS WHO I IMAGINE AS ROXANNE
Walking into my Physics class, I look around and see Jason sitting in the back. He hasn’t noticed me yet, but once the bell rang, he looks up and sees me standing in the front of the class by the teacher’s desk. He meets my eyes with a knowing smirk on his face. A girl sitting next to him was watching him and followed where his eyes were. When she looked at me, if looks could kill, I would’ve been dead 10 times over. I looked away and turned to my teacher.
“Hello, my name is Adelaide Branson and I’m the new student?” I said with a polite smile on my face.
“Ah yes! Welcome Adelaide! My name is Ms. Andros and I’m your Physics teacher obviously,” she told me chuckling. She seemed to be about 25 or 26 and she was really pretty with long brown hair and stunning green eyes.
“Class! I want you all to welcome Adelaide Branson,” Ms. Andros introduced me to the class. I looked in the back at Jason and he was watching me with a victorious look on his face, excited that he had found out my name.
“Just go and find an empty seat in the class Adelaide,” Ms. Andros told me with a bright smile.
Nodding, I walked towards the back of the class and sit in the seat right in front of Jason, because that was the only seat empty.
“So, Adelaide Branson is your name huh? Didn’t take me that long to find out.” I turn around and Jason is sitting there, smirking at me. “No it didn’t take you long at all, now do you want a reward or...?” I reply back at him, turning around to face the board and try to concentrate on what Ms. Andros was saying.
“Jason!! What the hell?!” I heard a girl’s voice behind me say. “What Roxanne? I can’t talk to any girl at all?” Jason says back. “No! You can’t! I’m the only girl you should be talking to! You know, you’re GIRLFRIEND.” At hearing that, I start chuckling quietly as the bell beings to ring.
Walking out of the classroom, I hear heels clacking annoyingly behind me, “Hey bitch!” When I heard that, I turned around so fast, I thought I gave myself whiplash for a second. “Excuse me? Who do you think you’re talking to?” I said to the girl who had blonde hair and had so much makeup on, I thought she was trying to be a clown. She was wearing the shortest skirt I’ve ever seen and her shirt was tight, her boobs were practically falling out. In short, she was a slut and you could tell at first glance.
“Well bitch, I’m pretty sure I was talking to you, unless there was someone else who was flirting with boyfriend back there.” She says to me, sneering.
“Well, first of all, I didn’t even know Jason was your boyfriend. Second of all, I don’t even know your name, so I don’t really care.” I shoot right back.
“My name is Roxanne Daniels, and Jason IS my boyfriend, so back off slut,” she says with a sneer and she starts wobbling away.
“Hey! Why don’t you look in the mirror before you call someone else a slut!” I call out to her in the busy hallway. In that moment, the whole hall went silent and Roxanne turned around slowly and asked me, “What did you just say?” “You heard me, look in the mirror before you call someone else a slut, because as far as I’m concerned, you’re a walking STD.”
Roxanne walks up to me slowly, her face red, and she points a manicured finger to me and gets up in my face. “Now, you listen and you listen good, I run this school, and I can make your life a living hell, so you better watch what you say to me.”
“Roxanne, I don’t think you understand, I’m. Not. Scared. Of. You. So you listen here, you bitch, don’t even think about trying to scare me off. And hey, if Jason wants to flirt with me, there’s nothing I’m gonna do to stop it. It’s not my fault you can’t keep your legs closed, or keep your boyfriend.” With that, I walk away and it was so quiet in the usually busy hallway, you could hear a pin drop.
When I got to my next class, which was British Lit., I see my brother sitting in the back, motioning for me to join him. After introducing myself to my teacher, whose name is Mr. Jensen, I walk over to my Axel, who surprisingly doesn’t have a group of admirers surrounding him.
“Hey Axel what’s up?” I asked him as I sat down next to him.
“Well, I just heard the most interesting thing from Jason Freedman. He said that you just told off Roxanne Daniels in front of almost the whole school.” He said to me questioningly.
“Well you heard right, I told that slut off because she started throwing shade at me. You know me, I don’t take shit from anyone.” I told him with a smirk on my face.
“Addie, you do know that she basically runs this school AND she’s the cheerleading captain right?” He looks at me almost shocked.
“I knew that she apparently ‘runs the school’ but I had no idea she was cheer captain,” I said with a slightly surprised look on my face.
“Well she is, and she can make your life a living hell. Actually I doubt she can do that to you because of two reasons: 1) you’re my little sister, and I’m crazy protective of you and 2) no one wants to mess with you now,” Axel says, chuckling.
Right before the bell rings, Axel realizes this isn't his class and rushes out, not even saying goodbye to me. Chuckling at the idiot who is my brother, I open my books and start to read through some of the material. Someone sits next to me and I turn to see who it is, just to be greeted by the amazing smile that belongs to Jason. "Hey, Addie."
"Hey, Jason," I say to him, a small smile on my face.
The next thing he says, is something that I don’t think I will ever forget, “By the way, I think you should look at the door, because someone just walked in, and he's staring right at you.”
I turn to look at the door, and the person I never thought would, walks in door. He sees me and smirks.
Standing at the door is someone I never thought I would see again.
Cade Steller.
