-Kya- 1

ages: Kya 16, Bumi 18, Tenzin 13

Kya leaned outside the door of her house sighing, she didnt know why she was in this situation or how she got herself into it...she just was and she hated it...just a few months after her coming out with her family...rumors spread all over the city...useless to say: that wasnt good for her parents reputation...and she knew that and she felt guilty...she felt guilty for being herself ...and sometimes...like this she stopped and thought: Am I different? and, Why cant I just like boys like everyone else? Im still Kya after all...or maybe not anymore? after a few minutes that felt like hours she got up and opened the door to reveal all her family in the living room, Aang helping Katara cooking...Bumi writing some letter probably to Izumi and Tenzin reading a book on the couch.

"Im home" muttered her, her parents gaze fell on her "hi sweetie, how was today?" asked Katara

"mhh, the usual you know" yes the usual...the usual is having all peoples gazes on her and people whispering slurs when she passes

"...dinners almost ready by the way" said Aang

"k..." she headed to her room, closed the door and jumped on her bed, looking at ceiling.

She thought all her problems existed because she didnt come out of the closet...but now that she did they doubled, she couldnt be the only girl that liked girls in Republic city...or maybe she was? she felt so lonely...and misunderstood, she began panicking, thinking about how low the possibilities of having a nice life again were, she couldnt breath...it felt like all the eyes of the world were on her and they were so heavy to carry...she suddenly saw a little note slipping into her room from under the door.
-roof tonight?-
the pain on her chest slightly went away...she knew exactly who was this from, her brother, she fold the little piece of paper and placed it on her desk...then she slightly opened the door to see Bumi casually leaning on the wall near her door, fidgeting with his fingers, when he saw his sister, a loving smile appeared on his features.
"sure" muttered her, not looking at him...a little smile revealing on her lips, Bumis grin became wider "mom said dinners ready...lets go"

the dinner was like every other dinner, nothing special...Tenzin blabbering about his training, Bumi teasing him, the usual-
"what about you sweetie?"
Aangs voice made Kya out of her thoughts
"uh...what?"
"how was your day?" repeated him
"I already told you...the usual" answered her looking at her untouched bowl of rice
"I- fine" Aang sighed, giving up on making her talk about something
"um sweetie, I heard that Kiluas son is single again, I was wondering-" Katara began talking
"whos Kilua?" asked Kya not looking at her mother
"shes from the water tribe but its not the point, her sons name is Saka and just a week ago-"
"mhh im sorry for him...wonder why he got dumbed" answered her
Katara scoffed "you could meet him maybe, know eachother-"
"mh no thanks" she cut her off
"you can at least try" replied Katara
"I thought I was clear, girls...you know the ones with a-" Bumi kicked her leg under the table
"a...uh nevermind"
"b-but its just a try! I mean you dont know for sure...youve never been with a boy before"  although Kataras words were the rudest she could ever say, her tone was the nicest on this planet...at this point Kya didnt know how she was containing herself from screaming at her mother, maybe the fact that theyve been trought a similiar conversation everyday since her coming out, maybe Bumi that kept his teeth tight during it...her father that looked down...and baldhead's eyes that switched from her to her mother as they spoke.
"I cant do this right now" said Kya, looking unbothered...slightly tilting up her head and releasing her chopsticks from her grip
Katara sighed "thats fine, I was pushing too hard..."
Kya didn't answered.

A/N: IVE BEEN WORKING ON THIS SO MUCH- and im back writing about Kya, this is gonna be a story thats gonna explore ALL of the Kataang Kids, idk trust me its gonna be SO GOOD, I wanted to thank itzzz_dumb_girl for sm headcanon and for supporting me in this project!
