-Tenzin- 1

"WHAT!?"
Tenzin heard his mother suddenly scream that sunny day of june...
unusual for mom to scream in such conditions- he thought, a book in his hand.
"When were you going to tell us?!"
"Im telling you now!" he heard his brother scream from the kitchen, they were fighting..

Katara placed her hands on her temples as she closed her eyes, probably trying to calm herself down, Aangs hand wrapped around her waist
"Bumi, you couldve told us sooner..." Aang sighed "are you in already?"
Bumi looked down...and nodded
"I tried and I got in, its an amazing opportunity for me! I have to go"
"you dont understand!" Kataras tone a worried sick one, she picked his hands in hers
"what if someday itll come a telegram telling me that youre lost in action? I..."
he saw his mothers eyes cornering with tears
Bumi tightened the grip on her hands, and Katara looked up at him, maybe for the first time she realized that her son was taller than her.
"I cant refuse cause im scared"
"we know" Aangs voice arrived to Tenzins ear
"and well support you whatever decision you take, right?" Aang looked at his wife
"mhhm" Katara nodded "but if you go, youll send me a letter almost eveyday"
"be sure I will" Bumi hugged his parents

Tenzin closed the book in his hand, slightly confused, was his brother going to leave?
Since when he was even planning on doing that! He sighed, he may didn't have Kya and Bumis bond but he really cared about his siblings, he had only trouble to show it since he felt like his siblings didnt care about him that much. Tenzin had always been the gifted child, since his birth everyone targeted him as The Avatar Airbender Child, as if it was a good thing to be an airbender...sure.
He never really understood why people wanted him to be with no flaws: he wasnt perfect and he hated it, his dad told him to read, to train, to meditate and the pressure of being almost the last of his kind was crushing him. He always talked about his training, because maybe he thought he could impress his father like that, Bumi always had been the best brother anyone would ask for, and now he was leaving? He was going to be alone.
Of course there was Kya, but...the two of them didnt really ever got along, it was Bumi that made them be together without beating eachother up. He sighed and opened his book once again, pretending he didnt heard anything from his room, like he always did.
