Kya didnt even bother to change her clothes to her night robe that night...she just went straight to the roof of the temple, where she could see the city in all her beauty...all the lights from the houses made it shine...like a diamond, Kya loved the night, not only because being a waterbender it gave her strengh but because at night everything accomplished a new side...a shiny one, even the city that during the day was grey and dark...at night morphed to be young and alive...it seemed to breath and Kya breathed with it...looking at it from her home she dreamed about what every little shiny dot was doing right now...celebrating something, laughing, or simply talking together...maybe drinking, who knows...

"hey" she heard Bumis voice...she didnt even heard him arrive

"oh...hi" she looked down at her feet

"what were you thinking?" a little smile on his face

"nothing"

Bumi sighed "Ky...whats happening...?"

"what do you mean?"

"youre not yourself anymore...it feels like youre slipping away"

"that doesnt make any sense"

Bumi sighed and covered his face with both his hands "you think nobody notices but everybody does...me...mom, dad...even Tenzin, you have to talk to us Ky, we can help you"

she buried her face in her knees as he talked "you dont know what youre talking about...you cant help me...nobody can"

"tell me whats wrong at least, we can..." he placed his hand on hers "...work things out and-"

"CAN WE STOP ACTING DUMB, WE ALL KNOW WHATS THE ISSUE" she pulled away from him, he saw her sisters cheeks were full of tears.

"IM THE ISSUE BUMI AND DONT PRETEND YOU DIDNT GET REJECTED BY TWO SQUADRONS BECAUSE YOU HAVE A GAY SISTER"

there was silence

"inappropiate relatives and ancestry...thats what it was written on the letter that I found in the garbage" she whispered looking down again

Bumis mouth was shut...what she said was true but she wasnt supposed to know that, it wasnt her fault...he could reach other military bases that wasnt a problem-

"im so sorry" she whispered once again

"Kya, no, no thats not your fault and you know that, that squadrons didnt need me anyway-"

"but you work hard everyday to enter the United forces and-and-"again she suddenly couldnt breath, she felt something pressing on her chest...like if she was drowning and couldnt ask for help, she began hyperventilating, Bumi tilted up her chin

"Kya" he said firmly, her eyes still watering

"Kya...look at me"

she looked in his grey eyes "good, now breath can you do that for me?"

"I- I cant-"

"Kya...breathe with me come on" he began filling his lungs with hair...she took a shaky breath...after a few times she began having a normal breathing pattern.

"how...how-" she looked at her brother in awe

"thats part of the training, were supposed to know how to calm a person whos having an anxiety attack" he sighed noticing that her sister was okay

"a...a what?"

"an anxiety- wait for how long have you been experiencing these kind of things?"

"a month or two...why?"

"I- you-" he suddenly hugged her, out of nowhere

"Bumi...what the-" she stopped talking finding comforting her brothers warm embrace and hugged him back.

"can you promise me something?"

she nodded

"talk to us if u need to...at least talk to me"

"whatever"

time passed and Bumi noticed that theyve been there for almost 2 hours
"its late we have to sleep-" said him

"stop babying me" scoffed Kya

"youre my little sister and Ill baby you how much I want, now go to sleep" he said climping off the roof

"the air is fresh tonight...Ill stay here a little longer and then Ill come inside, dad"

"whatever" said him heading to his room...after all Bumi knew that was a bad idea...leaving her alone in the middle of the night...and he was right, Kya wasnt intentioned to come inside one bit...on the other hand she wanted to feel the city shine near her...she wanted to leave the island, just one night...to breath again.
