It was now around 7 pm. Will had gone home and I had just finished eating dinner with the partridge family, minus Issie. She had just left for University a couple days ago so it was just Louis, Mills, Mr and Mrs Partridge and of course myself.

I love spending time with their family. They're so sweet and it just feels like such a fresh form of love. I obviously love my own family but sometimes it's nice to be somewhere new, but where I still feel comfortable.

I helped bring some dishes into the large bright and open kitchen, setting them down into the sink where Mrs. Partridge was washing them.

"Oh thank you sweetheart." Mrs partridge said giving me a loving smile.

"No problem." I responded leaving the kitchen and walking over to the living room where Millie and Louis were, on opposite ends of the couch.

I sat down next to Louis peering over at his phone where he was responding to snaps.

Louis snapped a photo of us replying to one of his friends.

"So Louis how was your first day?" I asked

"So Louis how was your first day?" I asked.

He looked over at me while still keeping his phone propped up, the camera on as he was replying to someone.

"Oh it was good I guess. Just not super thrilled about being back in school." Louis acknowledged.

"Yeah I wish we got to spend some of summer together." I said.

"Not me!" Louis said happily. "I loved my summer in Greece and it was lovely to have a break from you!" He teased.

"Fuck you." I replied flipping him off.

He chuckled and then leaned his head on me. "Just kidding of course I wish we could've spent summer together, though I'm not joking about loving Greece."

The three of us talked for a while, joking and alternated stealing Louis phone to bombard his camera roll with pictures of us. Mills and I then went upstairs and into her room to finish off the night, sorta.

To be honest Mills and I get terrible sleep when we have a sleepover because all we want to do is talk and laugh, play games, you know just do stuff. We usually go to bed terribly late, even on school nights. Our parents always threaten taking away sleepovers because we complain about how tired we are the next day, though they've yet to actually ban it.

"Okay tonight we aren't going to bed at 3 am, k?" I tell Mills.

"Yeah yeah, we say this every time." Millie responds laughing a bit.

"Okay true. But this time let's aim for like 12 am." I said.

"Fine ok." She says.

~~

"What time is it?" Millie asked yawning in between laughs.

"Umm I don't know, let me check." I said reaching over to grab my phone which had fallen on the floor from Mills and I rolling around attacked from laughter.

"Shit it's 1:23 am." I said peering at the bright screen of my phone.

"Told you we wouldn't go to bed at 12." She said with a mischievous look.

"Oh be quiet!" I said sarcastically, hitting her with a pillow.

"Sorry, sorry." She said laughing and defending herself from the pillow. "We should go to bed now then." She stood up to turn off the light.

"Yeah ok. I'm gonna go get some water first." I said standing up.

"K." She replied.

I left the room and quietly traveled down the stairwell, carful not to wake anyone up.

I started walking over to the kitchen which I noticed a bright yellow light coming from the area. I walked into the room to see Louis sitting at an island stool. He had is phone in one hand and the other was shoved deep into a large bag of crisps.

"Louis?" I questioned.

"Oh hey Y/n." He spoke. "What are you doing still up?"

"Could ask you the same thing." I said grabbing a glass from one of the white cabinets.

"Eh I got hungry and I wasn't tired so I came down here." He said eating a crisp.

"Oh ok." I took a sip of water from my now filled glass. "I was just getting some water, I'm going to bed now."

He nodded looking back at his phone.

"Don't you think you should try to go to sleep? I'm the one who's supposed to have a messed up sleep schedule." I laughed.

"I guess I'm just jet lagged from Greece." He said.

"Louis, Greece only has like a 2 hours time difference!? And they're ahead so it's nearly 4 am there, wouldn't that make it easier to sleep?" I chuckled.

"Oh well yeah true, I don't know I guess I'm just not used to school being back." He said.

"Mmk yeah I guess so." I replied.

I couldn't help but notice that maybe something was off. Louis, yeah he could stay up late, and he has but he could always go to sleep if he had to, especially on a school night. What kept be even more curious was that it had already been two nights in a row of Louis' weird sleep thing. I was tired though so I didn't want to get into it, interrogating him with questions. I let it slide.

"Goodnight Louis." I said walking out of the kitchen with my glass of water.

"Night." He made out.

I walked back upstairs and into Millie's room where she was already knocked out on her bed. I set my water on one of the nightstands and got into the bed next to her.

I was still thinking about Louis a bit and his strange behavior, but not for long. My mind soon went blank as I fell asleep.
