It was dark outside with the street lamps dimly lighting the neighborhood. Mills and I decided to wait for Louis to be ready so he could drive us there. Although, I'm not sure how we are going to get home because my guess is Louis will not be sober by the end.

It was around 8:30 but no one's really on time, people kinda just roll in until the end. Pulling into an empty spot against a curb, Louis put the car in park and removed the keys from the car.

I stepped out of the car to feel the warm summer air still approaching with a faint cool breeze. It felt nice, which I was glad because I didn't have a jacket. Mills and I began walking up the street with Louis trailing behind us typing on his phone. We had parked a few houses back because surprisingly the streets were pretty full with cars, I wonder how many people were coming.

Reaching the large wooden door, I opened it allowing Mills to step in first, myself following behind. I would've held it for Louis but of course he had found someone he knew at the front and was chatting away.

We walked inside the foyer and scanned the grand house. Moments later Jules turns the corner and smiles.

"Hi guys!" She says hugging each of us. "Come over here, there's drinks in the kitchen."

We followed her into the kitchen which had an assortment of drinks scattered across the island.

"Take your pick." She announced. "Everyone's outside where the DJ is."

Mills and I grabbed a hard seltzer and Jules walked us out to the backyard. There was a large pool which had color changing lights and open space around it which was filled with people. There was a DJ to the left and to the right there was outdoor furniture all throughout and a fire pit.

Making our way to the crowd of people, Mills spotted someone and began dragging me.

"Omg Mills what is it?" I said laughing.

"It's Miles. He's over here!" She exclaimed with a big smile.

Following behind her, I began fixing my hair with my fingers. We soon found him talking to some guy. Millie nudged me slightly towards him which caused him to glance over. Realizing it was me, his face lit up.

"Oh hey Y/n! I didn't know you'd be here. I mean I guess Oliver goes to your school so I'm sure you have friends here but-" He rambled.

"Hey Miles." I said laughing slightly as I cut him off in hopes he'd stop rambling.

He seemed to just smile in relief which I was glad because I didn't want him to think it was rude I cut him off.

"Yeah I came with Millie." I added turning behind me to acknowledge her, just to see that she had left me, classic Mills. "Who I guess abandoned me."

Giving a slight chuckle, he gestured for me to follow him out of the crowd of people. We walked along the edge of the pool. The ground was lined with large square stepping stones, small gravel filling the crevices. I looked down at my feet as they lightly dragged against the cement.

"So are you and Oliver friends?" He asked breaking the silence.

"Oh not really I mean he's close with Louis and my brother so I know him but not well or anything." I replied looking up and making eye contact with him rather than my dirty shoes. I took a sip from the seltzer and saw the expression on his face. He seemed somewhat relieved.

"Oh okay yeah he seems cool I don't know him well but It seems like a lot of people like him." Miles added gesturing to the large amount of people scattered around the yard.

"Yeah well honestly I think they just want free drinks and a place to party." I responded laughing a little. "So tell me a little about yourself. Who is Miles Tova?" I said emphasizing his name and adding a smile to the sentence's cheesiness.
