"Alright every band tells you to raise your middle finger for 'fuck this,' 'fuck that,' but we think that's boring. We want you to hold up your ring finger because there's someone out there in this world that wants to sleep next to you every night." -Patrick Stump
A/N, so I'm going to have an authors note in the beginning of this imagine (for a specific reason which you will find out). I'm sorry if it's too short!
Thanks for over 7k reads and over 400 votes! This chapter and the next part go out to rac06h10ael because she's awesome and really sweet.

Also, this is one of two updates today. I won't be on here starting tomorrow until Saturday. I'll be on a trip and I won't be able to get any Wi-Fi.

I wake up to the birds chirping, hearing everything be peaceful and silent. Wait, actually, I woke up to the fire alarm going off. Damn it, Cailey. Of course my best friend would do this, whether it was my wedding day or not.
Wait, it's my wedding day. Shit! I get up immediately from my bed and open up my closet, trying to find my wedding dress. Of course it wasn't here, either my sister, Natalie had it, or my best friend did.
"Looking for this?" I hear Cailey ask. She was leaning against my doorway, smirking and holding the hanger that held my wedding dress. Of course, something else she shared with her boyfriend, Pete: taking things and making the person look for them before giving it back. Yes, my friend is dating my soon-to be husband's best friend. They were actually pretty cute together and they clicked really well.
"Yes, I am. Thank you very much," I say, snatching the dress from her hands. She comes into my room, taking out her makeup kit.
"Why do you have that with you? You never let anyone use that!"
"I know, I'm using it, not you. And I want to make you look enchanting, although you probably already are, with these curls," she replies, holding up my curls. She dropped them, moving her own curls onto the side and letting them cascade in front of her shoulders, "And don't let anyone tell you that you aren't beautiful because they would be lying and that's sinning."
I smile at my friends words and watch her straighten and re-curl my hair. That's when something comes back to me: the day that Patrick proposed.
*Flashback-a year ago*
Patrick and I had been dating for a few years of years now. I had only met him through Cailey, since she surprised me with VIP tickets for my birthday, telling me that she had met Pete at a bar when she was only 23. I guess they both agreed to have me meet Patrick and the rest of them those past couple of years.
I was walking with him on the beach, hand in hand and with the calm wind, everything felt perfect.
The sun had set and Patrick had given me a sparkler that people use for the Fourth of July. He pulled out a lighter and lit the end of the sparkler, the end igniting. I laughed as the sparkler lit up his and my face, he took the sparkler back and started walking away.
"Hey!" I called out, staying in my place.
He stopped in his tracks and looked back at me, "What?"
"You're just going to leave me here?" I put my hands on my hips.
He laughed, "No. Why would I do that?" I shrugged my shoulders. He sighed and walked back, interlocking the fingers of his free hand with mine and said, "I would never leave you behind, Rachael."
"Mhmm," I remarked sassily.
He shook his head and led me further down the beach, the sparkler as our guiding light, to a bonfire that was burning brightly in the dark night. Everyone was there - the rest of the band, Cailey, my sister, everyone. A wide smile grew on my face and I glanced up at Patrick.
"Did you plan this?"
"Maybe, maybe not," A sly smirk crawled onto his face. I playfully punched him and he acted like he was in pain. I laughed a little at this.
"Hey!" I said, leaving Patrick for a little bit to go over towards where Cailey and my sister were sitting in lawn chairs. Natalie stood up and hugged me, while my friend was just casually sipping on some pink lemonade. Of course, typical her.
"Hello? Cailey?" I say, waving my hand in her face. She looks unfazed, still looking down at her phone. I see her earbuds are in and I mentally facepalm. Even more typical. I rip out her earbuds and I see that she's a bit pissed.
"Next time you interrupt me in the middle of Supernatural or A Million Ways To Die In The West, I'm gonna hurt you," she says, angry. Or at least trying not to burst out laughing.
"You wouldn't do that."
"I know. If I did, I wouldn't know what to do with myself," she says, smiling. She brings me into a hug and I return the embrace. But once I pull away, I feel arms around my waist. I turn my head a little bit and put my hand behind my boyfriend's head, holding onto him. He moves his head a little to my shoulder, his lips meeting the top of it.
"I swear, the next minute, you love birds will be on the sand with your clothes off. Please don't do that before I have to gauge my eyes out with Cailey's pocket knife," Pete says, smirking a little. My friend goes over to where her boyfriend is and sits on his lap. I see that her usual black long ring is gone and it's replaced with a ring, an emerald stone at the center of it on her ring finger. Huh.
"Shush, Pete. It's their night, not yours," my friend says, lightly punching his shoulder.
"Wait, what do you mean it's our night, Cailey?" She gets up walks up to me and whispers a "turn around" before walking back to her own chair. I turn around to see Patrick down on one knee. I gasp, my hands covering my mouth. A tear had fallen from my eyes. I couldn't believe it.
"Rachael, I know we've been for a few years, but you're irresistible. You're the most gorgeous human being I've ever met and ever since I first laid eyes on you, I thought 'I don't have a chance with that beautiful girl.' But when you said yes to me asking you out, I was the happiest man ever. I'll love your for the rest of my life and I want to spend every second of it with you. Will you marry me?" He asks, opening up the velvet box to reveal a ring with a pearl in the middle.
I felt my eyes water at what I said next, "I'm sorry, I can't do this." And that's when I left, Cailey and Natalie close behind me.
