________

You weren't afraid of heights. You weren't.

But watching the masses of land float above a dark cloudy abyss, connected to each other by what looked like rickety bridges that swung in the wind, all coming closer as Anakin landed the ship, you were beginning to feel a little queasy.

"I thought you said there would be a field of lavender?" you stepped out of the ship and onto the landing dock, hair immediately blown behind you with a strong gust of wind. Padmé peered over the edge of the land mass, holding onto the rope for support as you both took in the dark, navy blue abyss below.

"There is. It floats."

She, of course, was used to it. Sypris was like a third home to her, after Naboo and Coruscant, because so many important political  meetings happened here. It was smack dab in the middle of the mid-rim galaxy, so politicians from all over could converge and have meetings, debates, drafting sessions, and balls.

There just so happened to be all of those things going on this week, and Padmé would be present for all of it.

She informed you on the way over, as she helped keep Obi-Wan's arm still as you splinted it, that she'd be staying in an apartment closer to the Capitol building while you, Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka would take the house in the outskirts of town.

So you wouldn't be completely alone with Anakin. A bummer, at first, but then you thought a lot about what you would even do for five days with just him, and turned grateful.

As much as you liked spending time together, he would soon find out you were kind of boring to be alone with. Small talk wasn't your thing, and usually you were content with doing small mindless tasks and hobbies, or watching TV, or pampering yourself with your time off. Nothing crazy, and he'd probably grow bored of it fast if Obi-Wan and Ahsoka weren't there to entertain you.

You were still undoubtedly excited-- yes, everyone had to heal up during this time. Even you-- you were still pretty beat up from your run in with that kidnapper, and your lungs were just starting to stop coughing up smoke and ash from the explosion. But you had been buzzing with excitement at the thought of being in a big fancy house with everyone, free to do whatever you wanted for a while, away from the war.

Another strong gust of wind slammed into your back, pushing you over the edge of the rope. You gasped and fell backward, running into someone.

"Oh-- shit sorry Anakin! Are you okay?" You'd hit him right where his injuries were.

He shook his head and smiled, steadying you at your shoulders. "Yeah, just don't stand too close to the edge."

You didn't have any luggage or anything, so it was kind of quick for the ship to be taken to special docking, and then Padmé was calling a speeder-taxi, and Ahsoka was hopping in with her.

You'd tried to convince all three of them to go to a hospital first thing, but they all denied. Even Obi-Wan, with his broken-ass wrist. He said it was only a fracture, and would heal in no time.

So Ahsoka was taking the first night guarding Padmé at her apartment, and you were getting into another speeder taxi sandwiched between Obi-Wan and Anakin, giving the driver the address and then speeding off into the blue clouds.

It was like swimming, you thought as you leaned forward in your seat to see out the driver's window. Each cloud you drove through parted like a wave, puffing outward and then swallowing you back up as another took it's place. The whole sky was blue, but a muted mellow one-- not as bright as most places, but that's because there was no direct starlight that shined on Syrpis. It was just a floating ball of gas, black in the middle, then lighter and lighter blue as it fanned out.
