Hayley came back from the bathroom, so unfortunately Nate did not leave.

"There she is!" Nate grinned.

Hayley raced behind the counter.

"Nate, go!" 'Emma' said.

Nate finally left, grumbling as he walked out of the cafe.

"I like Emma." Kol smirked.

"That's weird Kol." Rebekah frowned.

"I have to admit, you play this Emma character quite well." Elijah chuckled.

"I had practice." Rebekah shrugged.

"Wait, if you've been a vampire the whole time why didn't you just compel Nate to stop bothering us?" Rikki asked.

"Because I was trying to be normal, no vampire stuff. Besides drinking blood, I had to do that." Rebekah said.

"You couldn't have slipped once?" Rikki whined.

"No. That's the point of being normal Rikki." Rebekah said, slipping back into Emma's voice again.

"Okay Em." Rikki said, noticing the slip.

Rebekah rolled her eyes.

"You know who you really should've compelled?" Hayley said.

"She-who-shall-not-be-named." Hayley and Rikki said.

"Ooh, who is this girl?" Kol leaned in.

"Voldemort." Rebekah frowned.

Kol laughed, "No really what's her name?"

"Her name... was Charlotte." Hayley said.

"She was such a bitch." Rebekah frowned.

"Was? What, did you kill her." Elijah asked, concerned.

"Hayley, would you like to tell us how you triggered your curse." Rebekah asked innocently.

"I may or may not have been drunk and fought with Charlotte and she attacked me so I fought back and.. won?" Hayley said sheepishly.

"Damn, a good revenge story." Kol said.

"How did you know it was revenge?" Rikki asked.

"The way you talk about her." Kol shrugged.

"Anyway, we need to be prepared for Esther to retaliate. After getting away from her twice, she's going to come back stronger." Rebekah said

"The moon pool has protected us both times, unless she tries without help from the full moon we're fine." Hayley said.

"What I want to know, is if she's some all powerful witch.. how is she just getting defeated by the full moon and a bunch of magic water?" Rikki asked.

"I think that's a good start Rikki, we need to see why the pool is stopping her, or how it's stopping her." Hayley nodded.

"Yeah, I guess you're right." Rebekah said.

"Can't we have one day off?" Kol asked.

"No, we can't. Come on." Rikki said, ushering Bella, Rebekah, and Hayley out of the store. The other customers had left so Rikki closed up and the remaining vamps got the hint and followed the girls.

They arrived at the moon pool without any trouble,  finding themselves with a predicament.

"How are we supposed to test the water? We don't have any equipment." Rikki frowned.

"Well-  we could- well we know it's magical. We just don't know.. how it stops Esther from performing magic of her own." Rebekah said.

"Maybe when the moon is over the opening, the magic from the moon pool blocks out everything else in order to protect us." Hayley suggested.
