"Guizhong this, Guizhong that! Why do you keep bringing her up? We're together now, she's not here anymore!"
You screamed furiously with your hands balled up in fists. Your knuckles started turning white by now.
"Stop it. It does not matter wether she's here or not. She's with me, and always will be. She's here, in my heart."
Zhongli replied with a blank expression, and with his hand over his chest.
You were tired of him always talking about Guizhong, and it hurt when he mentioned every time anything would remind him of her. You understood it was his past lover, but you're here now. Not her.
When will he get over it & finally learn to love me the way he loved her?
Was something you've always wished for. You were envious of Guizhong even if you haven't met her. Did he even love you?
"It doesn't matter?", You questioned angrily, "For Gods sake, IT DOES MATTER! She's long DEAD. Yet you care and love her so much it's like I'm nothing to you. Why are you even with me if you don't care about me??"
You stated with tears streaming down. It's true, does he even care? There's a low possibility he might.
Zhongli was taken aback by your remark. He was a little offended, but he knew you were right. Why did he decide to be with you? Out of pity? Your looks? Why, Why, Why?
"I don't know why I'm with you in all honestly" He spoke quietly.
"I suppose it was because I wished to move on from Guizhong, or it was that you reminded me of her."
So it seemed he never loved you. He just needed you to move on from her.
"I'm not Guizhong. I am and never will be her."
You declared sourly, your voice almost cracking. You finally let go of your balled fists and looked down in pain. Your nails left crescent shapes on the palms of your hand.
If you held on longer, it would've bled and become a mess.
Just like you and Zhongli's relationship. It's time to let go, but something just keeps making you want to stay with him forever.
"You're right. You're not Guizhong. Never have been, never will be. We're not destined for each other."
Zhongli admitted sadly, looking away from you.
You sighed, wiping your tear stained cheeks with your sleeve. You took a few deep breaths and nodded.
"Right. We should go our separate ways. I hope that you acknowledge that I despise you for using me this way, that I'm hurt that you just used me to get over Guizhong, that you used me because I reminded you of her."
You sniffled, avoiding eye contact. He never loved nor cared for you, he only loved Guizhong.
You will never be her, ever.
