I sat on my bed laying on my back, thinking back to when I punched him. I rubbed my knuckles slowly, trying to make the ache feel better.
I got up and decided to go see what my brother was up to. I really hoped I wouldn't see Jacob there. Well, turns out karma really is a bitch. I stepped out of my room, and there he was, sitting against the opposite wall, facing my door. He had a kleenex box beside him, and he was pinching the bridge of his nose trying to make his bloody nose stop bleeding.
We locked eyes, staring for a long while. Then I cleared my throat and turned away, and walked towards the stairs. I didn't want to say anything to him. I honestly didn't feel guilty.
Yeah, no. He was still going to be an asshole and follow me. Ugh. I literally ran up the stairs to the top deck. I couldn't face him. I couldn't deal with him.
He stayed on my heels the entire time. People kept staring at his face and the forming bruise around his nose, but he didn't seem to notice. His eyes were trained on me, and me only.
I shoved people between us, and when I see that it wasn't helping, I started making my way around people in a confusing pattern hoping to lose Jacob. Guess what? It didn't work.
I had lost him in the maze of people, but it only took about 3 seconds until I felt a pair of hands grab my shoulders. I jumped at the contact.
I was twisted around to look at my captor and of course it was Jacob. Of course.
He crossed his arms across my chest to lessen my chances of slipping away. I sighed and waited as he dragged me to the hallway where there was no large crowd I could use as an escape. I tried not to melt against his embrace, but I it was really hard. His perfectly toned chest was directly behind me, and his perfectly muscular arms were sealed like a warm bus alert around me. I think you get the picture... He's prefect, I'm not.
Anyways, he uncrossed his arms, but not before getting a strong hold on my wrists. He held me tightly like I was a vapid, wild dog. I looked up, but when I saw what I had done to his face, I quickly shrivelled up, sinking lower and lower.
However, he tipped my chin up with his finger and made me stare at him. I looked up and into his eyes. They truly were a wondrous sight to behold. I could barely maintain my self-control.
He cleared his throat, then said, "I'm sorry... For everything. I'm sorry if I pressured you, or hurt you, or did anything unkind. I'm truly sorry. But I personally don't know if I deserved a bruised nose for all my troubles."
I just smirked, but stayed speechless. He didn't continue. I guess he was waiting for me to say something, but I want going to give him the satisfaction. I still didn't say anything.
He sighed , clearly frustrated with my immaturity, but I really didn't care.
He then started dragging me away, again. I had no idea where we were going, but when I protested he just kept pulling me. And of course he's stronger than me so my shirts must've been nothing compared to his strength.
He started dragging me towards the buffet hall I realized. I just sat there, letting him half drag half carry me to the place. Then we got a table, and sat. I asked if I could get some food and and he obliged, but only if he could stalk me from behind. Well, he didn't say it that way.
I got my plate and filled with some light salads and a price of grilled chicken I woukd cut up and place on top of my salad. Jacob got some meats and a small salad from he salad bar too.
We sat down, and watched each other run silence, then started eating awkwardly, making some eye contact then quickly looking away.
This went on until I finished day whole plate, then I stood up and went to get dessert. I piled my plate up with cakes and sweets (no judging allowed) and sat back down. Naturally Jacob got up to follow me also, so he took the chance to get some desserts too while we were here.
We sat, and again started devouring our food in silence. It was royaly passing me off. I sighed loudly and decided to break the ice.
"What do you want from me?"
He looked up, surprised, "What?"
I looked straight at him and repeated my question.
"What do you want from me?"
"Um.....nothing....."
"Then why did you drag me like a dog, and get all upset and do so many things and just..... Why are you being so damn difficult and confusing. Aren't girls supposed to be this way, not guys?"
He just smiled at me and looked down, shaking his head slightly and laughing to himself. I just sat and lounged in my chair. And then I got an idea.
"Let's play a game", I said, smirking evily.
He looked up confused.
"How'bout we play a game of truth or dare? But we should go to your room. It's the safest place... ", I said mysteriously, and winked.
He looked up and smiled like a fool. Boy, this night is gonna get interesting...
