"Let's go, papa!" Sambit ni Claire hila hila ako papasok ng bahay
"Iha be careful!"
"Hey... baby I'm not going anywhere... calm down" sambit ko stopping Claire from doing things excitedly
"Y-you promise you won't leave? Like mama?"
I caressed her face and lifted her up...
"Mama didn't leave you Claire... she's here" sambit ko pointing at her heart
Claire just looked at me the seconds later she hugged me tight.
"Just... don't leave"
"I won't. I promise" sambit ko hugging my daughter tight
"Papa let's go to our room!"
"Our room?"
"Yes papa! Me and mama sleeps together! She always tells me that papa will be here anytime soon, and here you are!"
"S-she never fails to speak about me?"
"Yes papa! She loves you so much!"
I looked down biting my lips...
"Let me down, papa! I'm gonna get something!" She exclaimed so I put my daughter down. Saka ito tumakbo papunta sa drawer niya
"Claire careful baka madapa ka" sambit ko wiping the tears again about to leave my eyes
"Here!!" She exclaimed pulling a small book out of it tapos tumalon siya sa kama pagkapatong niya ng libro dito. I sat down beside her and looked at it with her
"Family Diary?" Sambit ko reading the book title
"Yes po! Mama said that this book will be full pf our memories together! But before we even had a complete one... she's gone"
"We'll fill it up, baby. I promise" sambit ko sa anak ko but the first page isn't even a picture.
It was a drawing... of me and her, when she had her first kiss.
"A kiss of f-forever..." sambit ko reading her caption not even noticing umiiyak na naman ako sa harap ng anak ko. This day is just too much... too much for me to be slapped by my ignorance
"Papa..."
"S-sorry. Dad's tears just w-won't stop. Haha. Don't mind me" sambit ko wiping my tears away
"Didn't you know how much mama loved you, papa?"
"I knew... I knew but I didn't pay attention to it... I focused on what I had in mind... throwing away what we had... what she feels... papa's a jerk to your mama... and I'm such a fool, not to even say... I never even got to say it until her last breath"
"Say what papa?"
"I never got to say I love you to your mama, Claire... I love her so much but I didn't say it. I didn't get to say it even until her last breath..."
"Why papa?"
Bakit? Kasi tanga papa mo anak. Ang laki laki kong tanga.
"I guess papa didn't get the courage and the confidence... and before I knew it, I was now too late"
"I love you papa..."
"I love you too, Claire... I love you and your mama"
"Papa?"
"Hmm?"
"Didn't you say that mama's here?" Sambit ni Claire pointing at her heart
"Mm hm? Why?"
"Say it again papa"
"Say what baby?"
"That 'I love you'"
"I love you, Claire... you and your mama"
"She loves you too papa, up until now" sambit niya holding on to her heart
"What do you mean?"
"I mean... I feel it. In my heart papa." I smiled bitterly
"Thank you for informing me baby..." sambit ko kissing my daughters forehead trying to stop the pain
My daughter then placed her hand over my heart... and said the words that comforted and shattered me at the same time
"Mama's in you heart too papa... and I know she knows you love her..."
