Excitement in the morning

Max Taylor woke with a jolt. He dreamt of a sudden cry of help from out of no where. The words 'Please help!' still echoed through his mind. How I hate nightmares. Dinosaurs calling for help. Maybe they want breakfast? He thought.
Groaning, he raised his head to see the time. 7:30 am. Then he buried his face in his pillow and fell back asleep.

8:00am

Rex Owen yawned and slipped out of bed. He was hungry. He opened his door and walked into the living room, sat on the couch and waited for Max to come in.

"Good Morning Rex!" Said Max's mum, walking from the kitchen. "Is Max still sleeping?" She asked. "Yup, I'm pretty sure he still is". "As usual, the normal Maximus sleeper!" She laughed.

Max's POV:

I yawned and got out of bed, it was a nice morning, sunny and warm Ah the weekends. I walked over to the window and looked out. Over in the trees I saw a flashing light streak into the forest. "That's not normal! I think there's something there, it looks like...A METEOR!". I rushed into the living room. "Hey Rex, you won't believe what I saw!"

"What did you see?", "A flashing light - like a meteor over in the forest! We should get Zoe and go look for whatever it is!", "How about after breakfast?" He replied. "No way, I want to see it now! It might vanish or something!" I was really excited. "Come on! Lets go and get Zoe". Rex sighed "then can we get out of our pyjamas first?"

General POV:

The boys got changed and went to get Zoe.

Zoe Drake was awake. She had just got out of bed and got changed before Max and Rex came. "What is it guys at this time in the morning? I haven't even had breakfast" groaned Zoe. "Well neither have we!" Exclaimed Rex. "Oh come on, it will be fun! We're going to look for a meteor thing I saw crash into the forest" Max said. Rex and Zoe rolled their eyes. "Yeah! Lets go D-team and find that meteor!".

Half an hour later - Max's POV:

"Why do we have to do this again? You know I'm not a morning person" Zoe moaned, "Because you know what we are! The D-team! And D stands for danger...", "Yeah, well dumb also starts with a D" Rex says. "Oh come on this is going to be fun! You'll change your mind once we find that meteor!", "As if Max. How do you manage to convince Rex and I into getting out and about at this time in the morning?"
"I'm just that enthusiastic! Thats what gets you going" I grin.

But then I remember something, "Oh I had this creepy dream about dinosaurs calling for help, it was weird and kind of sad...I don't know why?"
"That's just weird, I guess you really don't know much when it comes to dreams" Zoe replied.

General POV:

Max, Rex and Zoe came across a clearing. For some reason there was a massive cut line across the top of the surrounding trees and in the centre was another tree, but this one wasn't cut, instead it had a hole in the middle of its trunk. "Wow, what happened here?" Zoe asked. "...see I told you guys there was something! Something did crash into the trees!" Max said.

Rex looked around the tree and found a strange stone. It was shaped as if it were part some sort of puzzle piece, and had the symbol of wind or air engraved on it. "Look what I found guys! It looks kind of like a stone with a wind symbol"

Then Zoe found a stone, it looked a lot like Rex's but with a plant symbol.
"I found one too! But this one has a plant symbol" she said.

"I haven't found anything yet guys, I'm going to look in the tree" Max said peering into the hole. He grasped a stone, "I found a stone too!" He looked at it. It had an electricity or lightning symbol on it.
