Dinosaur King

The foiled mission

At the D-lab:

Reese plugged in one of the Dino holders into the computer and a map showed up on the projector screen. "It looks like the Dino holder is on sync with the map" she said. "What's that country called?" Rex asked.

"That's New Zealand. It's made up of two islands called the North and the South, where the red dot is, is the North island. You know New Zealand has the oldest known survivor of the ancient reptiles called the sphenodon and are older than the dinosaurs! There are only two species left and are highly endangered, they are known as 'Tuatara'. New Zealand also had two of the largest bird species on earth, the moa - being the tallest bird to walk the earth, and the Haast's Eagle - the largest eagle ever to fly!...but sadly they're both extinct. I'd love to go to New Zealand some day" Dr Taylor explained excitedly.

"Woah, that place sounds cool!" Max said in awe.

"So what now? There's really nothing we can do about it from here" Zoe sighed.

Then up on the projector, the map started showing lines connect to different countries. "That's interesting...these lines seem to be connecting to the Dino holder and showing other dinosaurs locations. Could it really be?" Reese said.

"Do you really think you will be able to teleport us to wherever the dinosaur is, Reese?" Max asked.

"Yes. I believe the dinosaur search function and the transport function work together, so now we just need to test it."

"Um...is that safe?" Rex asked.

"It will be fine, maybe."

"Very reassuring..." Zoe muttered.

"All the other technology is in the Dino holder, so just press the button and it should work" Reese explained.

Dr Taylor came over with a bag full of stuff. "I'm coming with you!"

"OK lets go guys!" Max agreed and the D-team stood under the teleporter.
Their dinos followed. Max pressed the button and all of them but Dr Taylor vanished.

Dr Taylor was left wide eyed in disappointment. "I wanted to go!"

In New Zealand

Max, Rex, Zoe and Chomp, Ace and Paris managed to teleport fine. They were near a river. "Now where do we go?" Max asked. Ace sniffed the air and Chomp and Paris growled, rushing off to the far side of the river. "Hey Guys, wait up!" Rex shouted and they all ran after them.

Rock had recovered from the shock. In fact he wasn't afraid at all. He put the stone back in his pocket and warily stroked the Spinosaurus's bowed head. The spinosaur was a male. After Rock had summoned him from the stone, he had realised he was not an enemy. Rather than being aggressive, he had just walked up to him and lowered his head as a sign that he meant no harm. Rock wiped the fear from his mind and gradually started to stroke the dinosaur without hesitation. He even let out a nervous laugh.

Then suddenly he heard running behind him. "Get away from that dinosaur! It's dangerous!" Max called out, rushing over to Rock along with Rex and Zoe. "Woah it's a Spinosaurus!" Rex exclaimed.

"Who are you?" Rock asked. The Spinosaurus reared up in suspicion.

"I'm Max, and I'm telling you to get away from that dinosaur!"

"Why? He's not gonna hurt me...see?" Rock said signalling to the spino to prove his point. The spinosaurus nudged him and gave a small lick.

Max gritted his teeth in frustration. "Wha-? How does that make sense?"
