Fight of the Inexperienced

General POV:

The Alpha gang came to the side of the harbour, soaked wet and exhausted. They heard a nervous roar. "Terry?" Ursula said in concern, they looked to see where he was.

Terry was cautiously circling Chomp. Chomp grunted at him and charged, sending him stumbling back. They'd moved away from the harbour now. Terry reared up and roared in fury, Chomp charged again, parrying back Terry's jaws with his horns, then he charged into Terry's flank, knocking him over. "Way to go Chomp!" Max cheered.

Chomp reared up onto Terry, but Terry kicked him away and slowly stood back up. He growled at the triceratops, launched his jaws onto his frill and threw it across the ground. Chomp rolled over onto his side and grunted in pain. Terry came over to him and then continiously slammed his foot down onto his belly. Chomp cried out as the blows hit him.

Max's POV:

I got worried. Chomp was being hit now, a flashing red came on the gadget's screen. "There's got to be something I can do" I muttered, pressing all sorts of buttons on the it. Then that other card I found appeared. Dad came up to me. "I don't know what that card does but I included it in your holder, now seems like the time to try it out"

I nodded, taking the card. The others looked at me with a determined expression. So I slashed it and Chomp started glowing a bright yellow, he stood back up. The t.rex backed off, squinting at Chomp, then out of no where a funnel of lightning came down and electrified Chomp. He crackled with power and charged right at the t.rex, who was too confused and blinded to figure out what was going on, he was struck and flung into the air, landing on the harbour, he struggled to lift his head and turned into what appeared to be another card. "Hey, it looks like the t.rex turned into a card too!"

Then Chomp came by, he was struggling to stand. He panted heavily and collapsed, he too turned into a card. I rushed over and caught his it. "I gotcha"

"Is he OK?" Zoe asked.

I swiped the card and he turned into his chibi form, sleeping position. "Oh Chomp, are you ok?" I asked picking him up, he opened his eyes and nibbled my nose. "Yeah, he looks OK" I said, relieved.

We looked over at where the t.rex card was and saw three people. An old looking lady (middle aged?), a tall, skinny man and a short, fat man.

"Who do you brats think you are? Ruining our very important mission!" She said, picking up the tyrannosaurus card.

"My name's Max but who are you?"

"The Alpha gang!" She replied, "oh, so, Ursula"

"Zan-tastic Zander" said the tall one.

"Ed I say" said the fat one.

"Did you understand anything they said?" Zoe questioned. "Uh, no".
"Was that some sort of a threat?" Rex also questioned.

"So what do you want with us anyway?" I asked angrily.

"That's for us to know and for you to find out!...but if you ever meddle again you will find out!" The old lady said to us, and they quickly ran away.

"OK...they were weird..."

"The old lady?..." Zoe started but the woman heard and came right back to say she wasn't an old lady, and that she was barely in her teens. Right. Totally. Old lady. The other two guys came and dragged her away before anything else was said. I heard the fat guy, Ed, say; "did you say barely in your teens?" He obviously thinks she's old too then. "What was that Ed?" She said.

I turned around. "Hey dad, what is this?" I asked, holding the gadget thing up. "A dino holder" he replied. "So it's like the stone?"

"I bet it can do way more than the stone!" Rex exclaimed

I pushed a little cover on the Dino holder down and saw the lightning stone underneath. "that part is the translator... It puts the dinosaurs thoughts and turns them into words" dad explained. "So the dinosaurs will be able to talk to us?"

"Yes, and I have Dino holders for Rex and for Zoe"

General POV:

Zoe and Rex were handed their Dino holders. And almost instantly all three of them started glowing, including Chomp. Dr Taylor jumped back in surprise, squinting at the trio. Max and Chomp glowed the same yellow, Rex - the same blue and Zoe - the same green.
