Mrs Weasley, or Mum, as she had wanted Jaycee to call her, brought Jaycee to the Hogwarts Express as soon as time had come upon them. Jaycee still wasn't used to calling Mrs Weasley 'Mum' yet, so she stuck to calling her Molly, unless she was around other people. She tried to become comfortable with the name, but it hadn't been long enough yet for her to become comfortable.
"I'll see you for Christmas break, Jaycee. Have a good term, and don't get into trouble. Write often, we'll want to hear everything you want to tell us. The boys will miss you, so don't forget to write to them as well, even if Charlie isn't old enough to read well yet." Mrs Weasley gushed, as she hugged Jaycee close.
"Of course, don't worry. I'll write to you as soon as I'm sorted." Jaycee replied, causing Mrs Weasley to smile.
"Sounds fine to me, dear. Have fun." She murmured, sending Jaycee off to the train.
As soon as Jaycee stepped on to the train, she was almost pushed down by someone running into her. She quickly caught herself, but cursed quietly when she dropped her trunk on her foot.
"Oh! I'm so sorry! Are you alright?" The boy asked, looking down at Jaycee.
"Watch where you're going! You could've killed me!" Jaycee exclaimed, causing the boy to blush with embarrassment.
"I really, truly am sorry. I didn't see you there." He replied, and she sighed.
"Could you help me with my trunk? I think it crushed my foot." She commented, causing him to nod quickly.
"Are you a first year? You look a little old to be eleven--" He began, before she cut him off.
"That's because I'm thirteen." She stated, crossing her arms.
"Oh! You're in the same year as me and my friends! I haven't seen you here before. You're new than, aren't you? Where are you from? I swear you sound American." He rambled, causing her to laugh slightly.
"I am actually. A lovely family took me in, so now I'm able to come here." Jaycee replied, and he nodded slightly.
"W-would you like to sit with my friends and I? I-I mean, you don't have to, but since you're new, you might want to make some friends or sit with someone you're familiar with, even if it was because I ran you over." He asked, his cheeks tinting red again slightly.
"Sure, I'd feel less awkward." She answered, and he smiled.
"Oh! I'm Remus, Remus Lupin." He said, sticking his hand out for her to shake.
"I'm Jaycee, Jaycee Quinn--uh, well, actually Jaycee Quinn Weasley now." She replied, stuttering slightly at her misstep in words.
As they walked to Remus' compartment, Jaycee studied her fellow classmate. He had light brown hair, was fairly tall, but he had a few scars scattered over his arms. The scars that were most prominent and noticable were the ones on his face though, but she didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable. She wanted to ask where he had acquired the scars, but she knew it would probably be a secret, just as much of a secret as the scar that ran horizontally across her back.
"Mates, this is Jaycee Quinn Weasley. She's new to Hogwarts and she's in our year." Remus announced, as he walked into a compartment where three other boys were sitting.
"Hello beautiful, I'm Sirius, Sirius Black." Sirius said, as he grabbed her hand and kissed the top of it lightly.
"I'm James Potter, nice to meet you, Jaycee." James added, a grin appearing on his face instantly when he looked up at the blonde.
"I-I'm Peter Pettigrew." Peter murmured, not trying to bring too much attention to himself.
"Nice to meet you all. What house are you guys in?" She asked, sitting down next to Remus.
"Gryffindor. The superior house, of course." James replied, a boyish smile on his face.
"Of course, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw are fine, too." Remus interjected, as James simply shrugged and nodded slightly.
"Slytherin is the worst house. It's fully of dirty snakes. Slytherins are evil, Weasley, you don't want to be a part of them." Sirius added, a smirk on his lips.
"What are you? Pureblood? Halfblood? Muggleborn?" Remus asked, looking over at Jaycee,"We're not going to judge, we're just curious." He commented, a reassuring smile on his face.
"Muggleborn. The Weasleys are pureblood though, but I'm not biologically their kid. Don't tell anyone that though, not unless I say otherwise." She replied, causing everyone to nod.
"Well, at least we know you won't be a Slytherin, they hate Muggleborn wizards and witches. They pick on them and call them names." Sirius voiced, and the girl scowled.
"That's terrible. I hope they get what's coming to them." She retorted, and Sirius smirked.
"Oh, they do." He replied, as James nodded in agreement.
"They always do." He added, making him and Sirius laugh loudly.
Jaycee didn't believe she was going to make friends, especially since she was American in a European dominated school. She was worried that she would be casted out and picked on for being American, but she was happy to see that nobody seemed to care that she was American. The Marauders, that's what they called themselves, were actually quite nice to Jaycee, but they could be quite loud when they wanted to be as well.
As soon as they arrived at Hogwarts, Jaycee was be and ought straight to Mcgonagall to be sorted. She was first to be sorted before all of the first years, which she wasn't too thrilled about. Mcgonagall placed the Sorting Hat atop of Jaycee's head, allowing it to make a decision.
'Oh! An American in Hogwarts, you don't see that very often. You've been adopted by the Weasleys, very nice indeed. Your birth parents, they're not the nicest of people. Your mother, the harlequin. Your father, the joker. They're the king and queen of Gotham city, and two of the most dangerous criminals of all. You're ambitious like them, and just as head-strong as well, but Slytherin wouldn't be the right fit for you. Your courage is quite remarkable for such a damaged girl. Better be...Gryffindor!'
The Gryffindor table clapped, as James, Sirius, and Remus waved her over to them. She sat between James and Sirius, as they watched the first years begin to be sorted. She was glad not everyone could hear everything the Sorting Hat said to her, they only heard which house she was going to be in. If they had heard, she was scared they'd never speak to her again...

A/N: I hope you guys liked this chapter. According to the books, the Sorting Hat is only heard by the wearer, but according to the movies, everyone is able to hear what the Sorting Hat says to the wearer. I've decided to go with the books, since it'll help add drama and suspense later on in the story.
Love you guys!
