(slightly longer chpt)

i fluttered my eyes open, immediately getting blinded by the sunlight seeping through my curtains, feeling the sun's subtle warmth brushing against my skin.

i glanced at my phone.

7 JULY, 7:23AM

it read.

i gasped and shot out of bed, putting on the nearest hoodie i could find and sprinted out of my room.

"y/n!" i heard mom yell from the kitchen as i scurried to open the gate, just in time to see heeseung coming out from his house across the street carrying his backpack.

he was wearing his favourite oversized turquoise tee.

"heeseung!" i cried as he glanced at me and jogged towards my direction, his bag resting on one side of his shoulder

"heeseung!" i cried as he glanced at me and jogged towards my direction, his bag resting on one side of his shoulder.

"what happened?" he asked, instinctively wiping the tears off of my cheeks as if it was second nature for him.

"don't.. overwork yourself too much. make sure to not skip your meals too,"

"and drink a lot of water! also get plenty of rest.." i managed to say in between sobs, tears streaming down my face.

"i'll be okay y/n, i know you'll be rooting for me. thank you," he said, bringing his face lower to meet my eyes.

he brought both his hands to my face and wiped my tears away gently with his thumbs. for a moment, all we did was stand there as trees swayed with the cold morning breeze.

i looked up to meet his eyes, and i swear i could see the whole universe in his pupils. it was as if there were stars in his eyes.

i knew he was following his dream but it was obvious that there was a part of him that didn't want to leave

that couldn't.

"remember what i said? i'll still be the heeseung you know even when i debut," he promised, interlocking his pinky finger with mine.

"you're the person that taught me how to be humble, y/n. i'll never forget that," he smiled as he let go.
