It all started with a bet.

2: What have I gotten myself into?

Lilly's POV
After being at Mary's house for a while we decided to go to a drive in so we put in our shoes and sprayed on a little perfume.

When we got there I saw Cherry and Mary argue with their boyfriends so I decided to sit down. They came and sat down next to me. The movie was just about to start when I asked them what happened and they just told me to forget about it so I did.

A while into the movie a boy who looked to be seventeen started hitting on me. He put his boots on my chair and I took them off by hitting them lightly. "That's the greaser that just got out of jail or something, Dallas Winston I think his name is" I heard Marcia say. I nodded my head as I've heard that name around. The greasy haired boy got a little pissed but just continued to hit on me until a younger boy told him to stop.

I got up and told Cherry to come with me to buy a drink and I asked Marcia if she wanted anything. " a coke please" she told me. We went and bought our drinks and went back to the movie.

We ignored Dallas the rest of the movie.

The young boy who told Dallas to stop and his two friends walked us home that's night. I had learned that their names where two bit and Johnny. But I didn't know the younger boys name, although he looked familiar.

On our way to Marcias house we heard a car and turned around to See Cherry and Marcias  boyfriends and a third guy in a mustang.

Cherry griped my hand and I held it hard, I knew something was going to happen. The guys didn't seem to be worried, I guess this happened all the time for them.

They boys in the mustang started to argue with the greasers about taking "their women" and that's when I felt a hand on my waist, it was the third guy. John. The asshole of assholes, a real jerk. He started to grip on to my waist harder even though I resisted. He slapped me in the face and I fell to the ground.

I guess I was more shocked than hurt. After all who would hit a girl like that.

I wasn't the only one not okay with this cause just seconds after me falling to the ground Two bit pulled out his switchblade from his back pocket and pointed it at John.

John looked like he saw a ghost or something cause he immediately backed off and got back into the car. The other boys took this as a sign to get in with him and sped off but not without spitting on the ground and muttering "dirty greasers" at the young boys.

I was still in the ground when the boy who just pulled the switchblade on John pulled out his hand, offering to help me up. I took his hand and thanked him.

"Im sorry about before" I heard a voice behind me say, referring to Dallas bothering me. I turned around to se a guy who looked to be my age. He was the one who told Dallas to stop.

"Oh it's ok really." I said. " No it's not and im sorry, that's just how Dally is" he said a little shamefully.
"So what's you name?" I asked. " I'm pony boy but you can call me pony, that's Johnny, the shy one, that's Keith but we call him Two-bit, and you already met Dally," he said.

We looked at each other until I introduced myself and my friends. They insisted on walking us to Marcias  house and we didn't complain. When we got there we said goodbye and went back in the house.

Pony's POV
"Those girls sure where fine" I said looking at two bit.

"Yeah Marcia gave me her number but it was probably a phony one" he said chewing on a piece of paper and then spitting it out.

"That Lilly girl was pretty hot don't ya think" Two bit said causing us to turn to him. I agreed and started thinking about her smile.

She was pretty hot. But not only hot, she was beautiful, I've seen her and Cherry a couple of times in school but never had the courage to go up and talk to them. I guess Cherry was cute but not in the same way as Lilly.

We walked home and Two bit split cause he was meeting someone. So Johnny and I went home. When we walked in I had a smile on my face.

" Why are you so chipper" I heard my oldest brother Darry say laughing a little.
"No reason" I said still with a huge grin on my face.

"He's smiling cause he's in love with a girl we just met" Johnny said loud enough for everyone to hear.
"No im not" I said hitting Johnny on his shoulder.

None of the boys believed me. I saw my brother soda whispering to Steve, his friend.

"What's her name" I heard someone say, it was Dally.

"No one" I lied. "Her name is Lilly and lover boy over here is in love" Johnny joked

Soda and Steve turned their heads and looked at me, then at each other.

" Hah, we just met a girl named Lilly down at the DX, maybe it could be her, what she look like?" Soda asked.

I described Lilly and I didn't notice that I hade a huge smile in my face until Steve pointed it out.
"So she's the broad I tried to pick up tonight?" Dally asked.

I said yes and we all started laughing realizing we all found her cute.

" I bet she likes me" Dally stated "no she likes me" Soda said and it went on like that for a while until I said something that got all of their attention.

" let's make a bet then, whoever she likes and starts dating gets ten dollars from each of the losers" I said, immediately regretting what I had just said. " oh it's on" they all said.

What have I gotten myself into?
