Surprisingly, the night in the uncomfortable hotel room bed was the best night Atsushi ever had.
He woke up feeling actually good and well rested and he wasn't even going to lie anymore it was definitely because of Akutagawa
What also surprised him was that when he woke up he was laying between Akutagawa's arms and no matter how much Akutagawa tired to deny it later he looked extremely peaceful and happy
Speaking of later even though Atsushi wouldn't stop teasing Akutagawa about what happened the atmosphere between the two was really awkward..

After finally leaving the hotel room at around 8am they got into the elevator to get downstairs and because both boys were kinda nervous their hands touched while they both reached for the elevator buttons

"Ah sorry uh"

"No I saw you reaching for the buttons I shouldn't have.. yeah"

"Yeah no it's fine I- it doesn't matter.."

"Yes yes"

The awkward silence paired with the quiet elevator music made Atsushi rethink his entire life he was happier then ever when they finally met with Dazai outside of the hotel

"Heyyy you two I hope you slept well"

He had an innocent grin on his face that soon turned into a smirk

"Sooo anything you want to tell me"

"I'll actually never tell you something ever again"

Atsushi just glared
Dazai put his hands up in defense

"I also don't tell him shit he uses it against you I learned that the hard way i'm guessing you did too"

Only then Atsushi noticed Chuuya standing slightly behind Dazai

"Anyways we have to finish this stupid mission I don't plan to spend more time with Dazai so please just let's get this over with fast"

And with that they started moving.
Atsushi noticed that Akutagawa almost didn't speak at all the whole day and he wasn't sure if it was because of Dazai, Chuuya or what happened tonight or maybe a mix of all three.

The team arrived home very late at night the sky was full of stars and the moon shined bright
After Dazai and Chuuya ended up going to some random bar Atsushi had suggested that they could just order some pizza and eat it by the water and because Akutagawa was tired and hungry he agreed so now they were sitting there eating pizza and looking at the night sky.

"It's beautiful isn't it"

"What? The moon?"

"Yeah but the stars too, just the universe in general"

"I suppose it is"

"What do you think Dazai and Chuuya are doing right now?"

"Probably making out"

"Woah didn't expect you to say that"

"It's the truth"

"Mhm"

There was a pause

"We should try that too"

Akutagawa almost choked on his pizza slice

"Stop talking bullshit did you drink too?!"

"Haha you're flustered"

"Am not!"

"No but seriously I really want to kiss you right now"

Akutagawa just started

"I like you"

"A lot"

"Maybe I even love you"

"That's such a big word now that I say it out loud"

Atsushi didn't take his eyes of the sky

"What the fuck are you talking about"

He turned his head to look at Akutagawa

"I love you Akutagawa"

"Love is a fucking waste of time"

"Hmm I expected this"

"Let's forget about this entire day, good night"

Akutagawa got up and left behind an unfinished pizza and a heartbroken Atsushi

Atsushi looked back at the sky he realized that this hurt a lot more than expected by the time tears silently started rolling down his cheeks.

The warm summer night suddenly became cold
