After they had put away the groceries they went outside in the backyard to shoot some football, just to get some fresh air and do something else. The fact that they had moved in together again, after everything should be weird, but they were slowly getting back to that playfulness they had always had. Reading fanfics together actually helped, strangely enough.
Harry made them some lunch after they had exhausted themselves by kicking a ball around and showered, and they sat down in the living room.
"Let's get The Wedding Planner over with." Harry said a bit grumpy."We don't have to read it." Louis pointed out.
"But I want to. It's just..." Harry huffed.
"Eleanor? Do you still get upset over her? She doesn't mean anything to me. You know that, Haz." Louis said softly.
"I know. It's just...I had to sit in a hotel room waiting for you to come back after one of your stupid dates. I guess that still bugs me. She's still in the picture." Harry confessed.
"So? I never understood the problem. I don't have to get to know someone new. Danielle was hard enough. Eleanor is okay. She takes care of the dogs. She knows what's expected of her whenever we have to do a public function." Louis replied, sounding a little irritated.
"You just spent so much time with her. It made me insecure back then." Harry sighed.
"Why? I'm gay Harry. I wouldn't fall for her if that was what you were afraid of." Louis chuckled.
Harry bit his lower lip and shrugged his shoulders. Louis' eyes grew wide.
"Wait? You actually were afraid that I would fall for her? That's stupid! I on the other hand had those fears all the time. You're...whatever, not gay, and you had to date multiple women. I always waited for the day one of them would steal your heart." Louis muttered.Harry stared at him.
"Really? You never said anything.""No, because I didn't want you to feel bad." Louis mumbled and looked down at his hands.
"I wouldn't have...damn! We were so bad at communicating." Harry sighed.
"Yeah." Louis agreed.
"Okay, this is depressing. Let's read a new fic." Harry finally said and grabbed the computer.
Louis didn't object so Harry clicked on the wedding planner and started to read.
Harry was walking down the street, running later for a meeting. His high-heeled Gucci shoes made a sound whenever he took a step but he loved them. Gucci made marvelous men's shoes as well. They had been really expensive but worth every penny. As a high-rated Wedding planner, he took pride in how he dressed. First impressions were important.
"Yep, that sounds like you." Louis grinned.
"Oh, hush it. But I would be an excellent wedding planner, don't you think?" Harry grinned.
"I'm sure of it. I wouldn't be much of a doctor though. Imagine all the studying you have to do. Nope. Not my thing." Louis chuckled.
Harry just smiled at him and continued to read. Louis rescued him and then there was a scene at the hospital.
A familiar voice caught his attention.
"Where is he? Oh, my God! Harry! Are you alive?""That has to be Niall." Louis cackled.
Harry continued to read and it was indeed Niall. The story followed the basic storyline of the movie. Niall invited Doctor Lou to an outdoor movie in the park and made a lame excuse to leave them alone.
"Oh, look at the time. I totally forgot that I have to help my brother's friend's uncle clean his refrigerator. Bye!" Niall suddenly said and ran off.
"Worst excuse ever!" Harry giggled.
"Are we surprised?" Louis snickered.
Harry finished the chapter and started on the next one. Eleanor made her first appearance and Harry snorted loudly.
"She calls you Tommo? How romantic."Louis just chuckled. Harry kept reading.
"A scrabble club with old people? You would love that." Louis teased."I would!" Harry grinned.
He continued to read and they both let out a sound of disgust when the old people had found a husband for Harry that happened to be Zayn.
"That's just...weird." Harry laughed."Maybe this is a Zarry fic." Louis smirked.
"Moving on!" Harry huffed.
He proceeded with the story. It was revealed that Doctor Lou was Eleanor's fiance.
"Hey! Why do I have to be the asshole? I clearly went on a date with you. I didn't show up in that park just because you're so nice, and he hasn't even told his future wife that he's bi." Louis complained."I'm sure you have a great excuse." Harry giggled.
He didn't. Harry kept reading.
"Can you even dance?" Harry questioned.
"Please, I ballroom danced from the age of seven. Try and keep up." Louis snorted and started to lead him in a tango.
"A tango? This is hilarious!" Louis laughed.
They continued to read and they spend time together, planning the wedding, falling in love. When it was time for the wedding Harry put Niall in charge and went on a date with Zayn.
"Nooo! This is so messed up!" Louis complained.""It's just a fanfic. I'm sure you'll get your shit together soon. Oh, here it comes. Your talk with Eleanor." Harry chuckled and read out loud.
"So do you? Am I the love of your life?" Louis asked.
Eleanor hesitated.
"I...it's our wedding day Louis!""I know, and we should have talked about this before. We've been together for so long El. We became adults together and you're my best friend. Forget about this, come on, let's just get married. I'm sorry." Louis sighed and turned around to head back.
"Wait! No." Eleanor shouted.
"Finally!" Louis shouted and Harry just laughed.
"I think you handled that nicely. You didn't just dump her to run away with the wedding planner. Not a total asshole after all."
'Thanks." Louis snorted.
They read the final chapter where Louis confessed his feelings and they lived happily ever after.
"Cute! But I feel bad for Niall." Harry commented."I just thought the same thing!" Louis laughed.
They got up to make dinner.
