A/N: Hi! 👋

I'm so sorry it has taken so long to get this chapter out. My mom's birthday was today and my sister came home with her 15-week old black lab pup Thursday and I puppy-sit for her. I also needed to clean my room because damn, was it a mess. Oh yeah, and I rearranged my bookshelf...again.  But it looks so nice! I got myself a shark jaw at the store I took my mom to today and put it on display on my bookshelf and it looks so cool!

Anyways, this is a bit of a longer chapter, but we do get to see some friendly faces and Keith being a hothead. What else is new?

But yeah, hope you enjoy the chapter!

C/W: Language. Ahh, back to my old vulgar self. Feels good. Why is it so satisfying to write profanity?

Lance made his way back to the Garrison, Hunk freaking out when he showed up to their dorm room in the middle of the night. Lance managed to calm Hunk down from thinking Lance was an intruder coming to kill Hunk in the middle of the night.

"Where have you been?!" Hunk screeched at Lance once he had calmed down and their door was closed.

"Shhh!" Lance scolded. "Quiet! You're gonna wake someone!"

"Oh, right, sorry." Hunk smiled sheepishly, scratching the back of his neck. "But come on, ya gotta tell me where you've been! I thought we were best friends!"

"We are! And I'll tell you once you stop shouting at me!"

"You're the one who's shouting!"

"Bup bu bu bu bup!"Lance said, moving his hands to imitate a talking mouth. "Besides the point. Look, after the storm and fire, I got separated from you guys, right?" Hunk nodded. "Well, I kinda got lost in the woods and..." Should Lance tell Hunk? He already decided not to tell anyone about Keith and the village, but Hunk was trustworthy...right? "Well, I found a cave and ended up falling asleep there. I was finally able to get back, but it got late fast. Time flies when you're trying no to get killed in a forest, heh."

Lance scratched the back of his neck, putting on a sheepish smile that would hopefully be enough to fool Hunk.

"Okay, well, I'm glad you're not dead in the woods somewhere. Now can we please go to sleep? I'm working on a new breakfast recipe tomorrow morning and need to et up early to try it out. Taste test with Pidge?"

"You know it!" Lance made his way to his own bed after changing in the attached bathroom and cleaning up. "Night, Hunk."

"Night, Lance," was Hunk's only reply before soft snoring could be heard from his side of the room. Lance tossed and turned in his bed, thinking about all that had happened in the past 24 hours. Had it really only been a day?

Lance went on a hunt to kill a wolf walker in the woods in the middle of the night. There turned out to be two wolves. A giant thunderstorm came out of nowhere and lightning started a huge forest fire. Lance got separated from the group and was lost in the woods. A huge, 8-foot tall black wolf found Lance. Said wolf turned out to be a wolf walker. Who was also a really cute guy? How?! Not fair. The cute guy took Lance to a hidden village in the woods where the wolf walkers live. His sister wasn't dead, but a wolf walker herself, along with her Galran girlfriend. Cute guy's name is Keith. Keith offered a place in his pack, and Lance accepted. Keith showed Lance the way back home and now here he was. Tossing and turning in bed while keeping secrets from his best friend, who was asleep a yard or two from him. Fuck, Lance was in deep shit.

Lance woke up early, not entirely sure why. But, he was going to use it to his advantage. One of the perks of growing up and living with a huge family was that you learn how to be a good actor. Fake sleeping, lying, learning how to sneak around the house, how to twist words to your advantage, and most importantly...fake being sick.
