Hey guys! I'm gonna try and update my exchange student as well, But let's get real here, that's probably not gonna happen. Queen of procrastination sitting right here. Anyways...slight cliff-hanger in the last chapter, so I'll let you get reading! Here it is...

Chapter 14- All part of the job

Fox's POV:

I don't know what I was doing, but I knew that it was right. I'm so glad she didn't end up pushing me off of the cliff, but she actually said she liked me back. Added bonus.

It was quite hard to wrap my head around. Artemisia Bluejay likes me. ARTEMISIA BLUEJAY likes me. Who in all the world would have thought that would happen?

We talked for a while about anything, and everything. It was nice, just talking. I realized- I hadn't done that in ages. Just talked. Artemisia had her legs over my lap, and was fiddling with the edge of my shirt. As she was telling me about the time she had gone camping and ended up shooting her cousin in the foot, Marco came round the side of the cliff looking out of breath. He had probably ran the whole way here. And that was a long way to walk let alone run.

"Marco!" I exclaimed, surprised at his sudden entrance and Artemisia had a similar look on her face.

Artemisia's POV:

"Your father needs to talk to you." He says, pointing at Fox. "You'd better come too, Artemisia. If you know what's good for you?"

What the hell is that supposed to mean? I know what's good for me. Air, food, water. I came along anyways. I didn't really have a choice, seeing as I was picked up and carried there. Not like I was complaining, or anything. Anything to not actually have to walk as far as we had done.

..........

We walk into Fox's dad's tent, and he sitting at the table, along with Princess Lieka Conyarjay. Their heads turn towards us, and Lieka looks down her nose at me, and so I just roll my eyes at her. Fox sits on a bamboo chair, with me on his lap, seeing as there is no-where else to sit.

"Fox, you are going to marry Princess Lieka, no matter what." Says the chief. Wow, there's no beating around the bush with him.

"No. I'm not in love with her. I don't want to marry her, and you can't make me. It's against my human rights." He looks at me as if asking if he got it right, and give a small nod to reassure him.

"What? You're marrying her, and that's the end of this discussion."

"No, it's not. I can do as I damn well please. And I defiantly  don't want to bloody marry her." Three weeks ago, and he had no idea what a swear, and now he is using them freely in his language. I've made my generation proud.

"Stop arguing with me, you are going to marry her whether you like it or not."

"Well, it's going to be hard for me to marry her, if I'm not there." I get off of his lap, as if sensing what he's about to do next.

"What in the gods names are you talking about?" He looks at Fox, a confused expression covering his face.

"Bye dad, nice knowing ya. RUN!" He shouts the last part at me, and I grab his hand, and we start to run. Run away from the marriage, run away from the problems, run away from that life.

As we run, I see Marco with a questioning look, and shout, "Bye Marco! It was nice knowing ya!" I feel like we've being saying that a lot lately. Oh well, all part of the job.

Author's Note:

I'm sorry it's been a while since I've updated *coughs* 25 days *coughs*. I've just been quite busy, and I was in Athens on Sunday to Wednesday, went to school on Thursday and now I'm ill today (Friday), because I have massive coughs, which feel as if I'm coughing up my lungs, and a really painful headache, which hurts when I stand. But, don't worry, I don't get ill very often, and when I do, it's not that cliché sweaty palms, and using up every tissue left in the box. Anyway, I decided to change this chapter and the ending of the last one, because I didn't like it- but don't worry! Most of the original material is still there, so not a massive change, but it does mean there will a few more chapters, and one of them will be even more heart-felt. It's sad guys. Seriously. Like when Bambi's mother dies, or Simba's father get killed, or when John Smith gets shot. Okay. Maybe not that heart-felt- but it's still sad, and I will try and make you guys cry! Wish me luck!
