Chapter Eighteen-NEVER!

By the time we got to the tribe, I was just able to walk. Sure, I might have looked like a retarded idiot, limping about- but, hey, what ever keeps me moving.

"Um, there's one thing you forgot to tell me. How is the tribe in danger?" Fox asked. Damn it, I had forgot all about that. Whoops, my bad.

"Well, you see-" I was cut off by the sound of a helicopter growing louder and louder. Covering our ears, me and Fox both ran behind some trees to get away from the chopper.

"THAT'S HOW THE TRIBE'S IN DANGER!!!" I shouted at him, pointing to the helicopter.

"OH, YEAH. I SEE THAT NOW." He shouted back, rolling his eyes.

"DON'T GIVE ME THAT, NOW LET'S JUST SAVE SOME LIVES LIKE THE NICE PEOPLE WE ARE!" I shout and start running, beckoning for Fox to follow me, towards the very confused tribe who had started to come out of their huts.

As we ran to the tribe the air started to pick up speed, whipping my hair around my face, making it harder to run.

"Go on, you can run faster." As much as I hated to admit it, at the moment he was a faster runner, with my crippled self not being as fast as usual. He gave me a reassuring look then ran towards the tribe shouting something.

I felt the wind pick up even more speed as the helicopter became larger in my vision, descending at ever increasing rate. I stood my ground, watching as the chopper came to a stop on the ground; the blades came to a halt.

I saw about half a dozen soldiers climb out of the helicopter, standing with their legs shoulder width apart, and their guns held across their chests.

I stood, without fear, glaring at the soldiers, one at a time. Their leader stepped out of the chopper last, walking up to me slowly, until we were face to face, he was a couple inches taller than, around 6ft, whereas I was about 5ft 10"

"What are you doing here little girl, he asked icily glaring at me.

"Defending the tribe." I replied, with the same tone and glare.

"Step aside, and let us take the outlaws away."

"Outlaws? Outlaws?" I scoff, my voice getting slightly angrier, yet still under control.

"They're hardly outlaws, just innocent people living innocent lives." I spat.

"They are a danger to society, and have been reported as harmful. They are to be taken away to be dealt with in prison. Move aside, please."

"No." I said, nostrils flaring and my voice getting dangerously low.

A loud noise was heard behind us, and my head snapped back to see what all the commotion was about. As I turned I saw the tribe running towards the coast, I saw about three helicopters landing, joining another two already on the ground. Doing some quick Maths, I discovered that there were about thirty five soldiers down there, plus the 7 up here (six and the captain), which meant there were 42 soldiers in total, about the same amount as the tribe. I ran towards the coast, the soldiers behind me. My legs felt on fire, but I kept on going, no stopping now.

I saw Fox desperately trying to talk his Father out of this. There was no chance in hell that they could win this war. Each side stopped in front of each other, ready to attack. Fox now stood to the side, hopeless, knowing there was nothing he could do.

"READY, ATT-"

"STOP!" I screamed at the top of my voice, turning every head towards me.

"Step back little girl." Said the captain of the American army.

"NEVER!"
