Chapter Two- Groups From Hell

~~~
Artemisia's P.O.V
"Group number one is:" Mr Daniels said, squinting at the tiny writing infront of him. "John, Adam, Luke, Alex and Steven." I slumped in my chair, relived I wasn't in a group with people I have never met. I'm not the best at making friends, usually I just end up shouting in someone's face.
"Group two is: Jennifer, Hayley, Ashton, Tomas and Skye.' Again, I felt relived I wasn't in a group with odd people. And I was especially glad that I was NOT in a group with Ash. Maybe bad luck was taking a vaction. But, of course, that wasn't going to happen. Not even if I begged.
"Group three is:" Mr Daniels carried on. "Timmothy, David, Frank, Richard and..." My whole body tensed. There were only four groups. If Callum or I weren't in this group, then I would actually have someone I know and like in my goup. Maybe my luck had turned around.
"Callum." I'm not sure I heard right, but when I looked at Callum's face I know I heard right. I can't belive I'm not in a group with Callum, my only friend. That meant I was in a group with- No. No, no, no,no, no, no. This can't be happening I thought.
"Which means that group four is:" Mr Daniles carried on, oblivious to what had just happened. "Kathy, Mia, Kylie, Jannet and Artemisia.
"Everybody, as we walk of the coach sensibly, find your groups, collect a Map for your team and a rucsac each, for yourself . We will be hiking and the first team to reach the finish wins."
Mr Daniels words just washed over me as I realized I was going to have to spend five days out in the woods, one of my favourite places, with one of my worst nightmares.
We all shuffled off of the coach, some people complaining and others excited to be with their friends.
"I can't believe we got put in a group with her." I heard a very familiar, and very annoying voice say.
I turned on my heel to be face to face with Kathy as she, and what must have been Mia, Kylie and Jannet, were smirking.
"Why don't you run along and collect our map?"
"That's what I was doing you ignorant pig."
"Oh, there's no need to be rude."Kathy said pouting like a small child.
"But I wasn't being rude, I was nearly stating a fact." I said, innocently.
"You'd better shut that gob of yours, before I get angry, and when I get angry, I get ugly."
"Oh, so, you're not angry already? You look like you are. Flared nostrils, screwed up face, checks burning red, very ugly- oh wait, that's what you usually look like. My bad."
"Just get the f-ing map!"
"There is no need to be rude, Kathy.' I relpied sarcastically.
"Arghh!" Kathy screamed in frustration and walked away not bothering about the map.
"Looks, like you've already made Kathy mad," Said a familiar voice from beside me. "50 points. 100, if you can get her to lash out."
"Hey Callum." I said sadly. I was going to miss his witty remarks. Even if it was only five days, I would probably be dead by the end of it. "To bad I'm never going to see you again."
"What do you mean." Callum asked quizzically as a look of confusion spread across his face.
"Oh, didn't you hear? I'll be dead from Kathy's lame reamarks, before we get back."
"Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be fine."
"Have you met Kathy?"
"You'll be OK."
"I hope, and highly doubt, that."
"Come on, let's get the stuff."
"Ok." I said as we walked over to where the bags and maps were lined up on the ground. "I am not, I repeat not getting Kathy's bag for her."
"You know what you could do..." Said Callum with a slight glint of maddness in his eyes.
"You're not planning on murddering someone, are you?" I said joking, but still catious.
"No, of course not!" He said. He looked surprised but as though it could be a plan B of some kind.
"Good. Good."
"I suggest..." He leaned in whispered the idea in my ear.
