Amrita"Alright, I'm heading out... I'll be back in a couple of hours," I shout to my grandmother. The only person I've ever lived with, I never knew my parents. I was fine with that.
" Okay sweetie, make sure you're wearing something warm. It's cold" she always spoke softly, never having to raise her voice. She's a respected woman.
"Of course, I will. See you later!" I called out as I shut the door.
I'm going to see the stars by a pond. A beautifully lit-up pond with fairy lights the city put up all over. Mostly, because around this time people were always out at night. Too beautiful to miss. The sky holding everyone's eyes captive.
Before I arrive I grab two hot chocolates, they are too good to just have one. I also needed a little help warming up. Warm drinks provided that joyfully.
Sitting down on a stone bench a little closer to the pond I watched as the water reflected the beautiful small lights. I wonder how it felt to be so beautiful yet dangerous. Probably exhilarating.
I felt a breeze shoot next to me, I looked to my right and saw him, Aramis. I was buzzing with excitement but I didn't let my welcoming smile show it.
"Is my soulmate becoming a stalker?" I joked lightly earning a chuckle.
"I know we both like stars but I didn't think we'd enjoy the same spot." He smiled, warming me up instantly.
"Funny... I never see you here." I looked at him expectedly, my eyes giving away all of my curiosity.
"We'll when working you don't have much time to stargaze... May I?" He asked to sit next to me. I scooted over and handed him a hot chocolate.
"So my dear soulmate has been keeping tabs on my drinks?" He smirked. I shook my head lightly laughing.
"Why of course what other woman would?" I looked at him just to see a gorgeous grin.
"None. I am completely devoted to you." We busted out in laughter. The cold night air lightly kissing our cheeks mischievously.
Aramis
I looked up into the sky to see the stars twinkling at us. I wonder how the stars felt to be so stunning yet deadly. Beautiful.
"Beautiful..." She whispered, her eyes glazed over as she stared at the moon. Her dark brown hair in a messy ponytail falling over her shoulders. Her lips were pink and her eyes shining with admiration for the night that was above us.
I stared at her bewildered that she had my heart beating so fast.
"Yes, you can't deny that."
I was looking at her.
The stars watched as I dived into her pond of beauty. The stars set me up. Knowing we love to talk to them, they made us connect tonight, like how we did yesterday. But that was the rain's doing." how old are you? " one of her eyebrows going up in question. I admired how she was never intimidated by a person. She knew her worth.
"22... And you?" She flashed a smile and said,
"22, I guess that proves it... We are soulmates." That word always made my breath hitch.
Amrita
My stomach full of butterflies. Every single time we locked eyes. I wanted to know him more. His mind.
"Let's play 21 questions?" He just smiled and nodded his head as an answer.
"Why do you like the stars?" He pursed his lips and looked at the ground in thought. His black hair slightly falling over his eyes, my fingers itching to push it back.
"Stars always have unspoken words they tell you... " he looked at the stars and nodded, happy with his answer.
"What about you?" He leaned back on the stone bench.
My heartstrings pulled as the moon told me I could confide in him.
" The stars listen and comfort me, while the moon wipes my tears." He smiled a knowing smile. Not prying, but understanding.
"Have you ever been in love?" We gazed at one another, and I knew my answer was no. But with him, I felt like I have been. So I lied. It felt like the truth.
"Yes, I have been. What about you?" He looked at the pond and smirked.
"Yeah. A couple of times I believe."
As his eyes fell back onto me we leaned closer being encouraged by the grey clouds as they blocked the stars from our view. Clouds scolding shiny fireballs in the sky for being nosey.
The cold night air giving us some space and providing a little warmth, or maybe it was just him. Either way, I didn't mind. Warm means happy. I aspired to that.
"How does it feel to be in love?" Unaware I accidentally shared I've never experienced it. I was too caught up in his warm brown eyes.
"I dunno, I hope to drown in it one day." He smiled and glanced at my lips. My smile met his and said hello again.
Always smiling around him."I also would like to drown in love.." I whispered, his lips almost brushing my own. Although it would be incredibly fast, I felt as if I had already felt them before. My heart was begging to be reminded of him again.

They knew it.
