"Damn it, I drank too much..."
Who was this laggard and still drinking themselves to a stupor when everyone had been told to stay away from the drinks at the bar? What a pain...
"I'll get you some water." I told him and watched him scan me from head to toe. I was used to this look and I could tell he was mesmerized by my physical appearance or was already too drunk to not be embarrassed of their open stare.
"You're not a girl sent by Mijin are you?"
"Who?" Clearly he was already drunk for him to confuse me with someone else, especially a girl. I knew I was good looking but there was no way in hell I looked that feminine.
He seemed irritated by me for some reason and his frowned face became familiar to me. That grumpy campus loner everyone seems to avoid, or rather he was the one avoiding people. He always kept to himself, not wanting to stand out yet he somehow stood out for always being alone.
What in the world was he doing here at a party if he hated people that much?
He almost stumbled down on the floor and I broke his fall, pushing him back to the chair. He may be as light as feather but there was no way in hell I'd be caught carrying a guy in my arms, let alone this grumpy loner.
"I need some water here Elric! We have one of them still inside!" I shouted hoping my other colleagues were downstairs at the dancehall. This club had been evacuated and the police were on their way, though it was going to be such a pain dealing with them. I was behind on assignments and here I was trying to fix a problem caused by some amateur pranksters.
Elric came and handed me a glass, then left to bring more water.
"Here...I believe someone may have spiked your drink." I watched this loner stare at the glass before gulping it down as if he felt extremely dehydrated.
Afterwards, he started flailing from the seat that I felt compelled to shake him, reminding him to stay awake.
"Damn it you fool, how much did you drink? It's your fault for not having friends that no one warned you and abandoned you here!"
Luckily, no one was around to watch me carry him to the sofa next to the bar. The seats in this club were too cramped that I wondered who'd booked such a cheap club for a party.
"Where the hell is Elric and the others? " This was becoming annoying.
"Hey! Wake up!" This guy had completely passed out! He needed to stay awake and get some water in his system otherwise, it be hard to figure out how much he'd consumed once the police got here.
Either way, I had to leave him and fetch more water since Elric was taking too long. Hopefully, if I can splash some on his face, he'd wake up.
"Elric you stupid bastard!" This friend of mine somehow couldn't just take the situation we were in seriously.
"Stan done already...? Sorry I got a little distracted...you see..."
"Enough! We still have one more person inside. The campus loner..."
"That's my brother? I thought he left already!"
How shameless for them to be making out here when his brother had completely blacked out in there. "Hand me that bottle of water next to you, the one that looks like your stupid head. I'll take care of him myself. In the mean time, will you two get out of this place and join the others outside, the police will be here any minute."
"Oh right, I was to call the police... and then you asked me to bring more water...and forgot..."
"Elric!" I'd had it with this guy. I wanted to punch him so bad!
"Sorry Stan...I'll be out of your way now..." He said as he ran away downstairs, taking the girl along with him.
"Take care of my little brother Stan!"
Come to think of it, didn't this girl try to hit on me before? No wonder she looked very familiar. She was the extreme opposite of her brother.
Rushing back inside, I was confronted by an empty couch. Had he woken up and gone to the bathroom or something...and what was his name again?
"Campus loner!" I called out but no one responded. Where was he? I searched the entire area, unlocking every door, under the chairs and inside the bar, this guy had completely vanished.
Taking the stairs down, I met Elric and that girl making out again but I was too tired to argue with them. "Did he pass through here?"
My voice startled them and Elric was the one who responded first. "Stan, I already called the police...where is the person you mentioned?"
"He is missing I believe since there was only one way that led upstairs to the bar section and I'd used that. I would have noticed a staggering figure pass my way and I'm sure you two horny idiots would have I presume."
"I've been to this club before, there is a back door, like a fire escape at the back from the bar counter. I often used that route to make out ...with..." Elric stoped mid way as he glanced at the girl I'd just caught him kissing for the second time.
"I checked. The door was open. Seems other people left the bar through that."
"Actually, I doubt anyone really knows about it. The owner of this bar is a friend of mine so it's only the staff and myself...and now you two who know of it."
"You don't think Yeon used it....I'm sure he'd have stumbled and hurt himself. Stan, did you check for Yeon properly?" Finally, a genuine concern from her!
"I told you there was no one there. He was completely passed out when I left him on the couch..." Wait, what the hell was going on? There was no way in hell that campus loner had any strength left in him to even lift a finger.
Suddenly, we heard the police siren and were happy when we saw an ambulance too. There was such a huge commotion that it was hard to even speak to the police and as they started rounding up everyone, I couldn't help feeling suspicious and apprehensive. Something didn't sit right with me. Before anyone noticing, I snuck out of the crowd and ran to my car.
That guy couldn't have gone far and if anyone was with him...well, it would only make sense it was the pranksters trying to cover their tracks.
What did his sister say his name was again?
"Yeon!"
