Ch 11: Reality Strikes

Viperion and Vesperia were on patrol during the morning. They were used to waking up early. And Viperion even liked it. He loved the smell of morning air. And Vesperia would not trade the feeling of the breeze in her hair for anything.

Zoé and Luka, their real identities, have not been properly aquainted yet, however, being on patrol in the mornings for the past few days gave them the chance to get to know each other. It was a good thing too. It never hurt to know who your allies were. After all, a team would never work if there wasn't trust.

The two managed to end their patrol rather quickly. Paris was huge, yes, but their agility allowed them to sweep through it faster. That, and the fact that the Eiffel Tower gave them a really good view.

"The fresh morning air is just what I need to get a good start to my day," Viperiom said with his eyes closed and with a smile on his face. Vesperia giggled.

"Really? I thought you said coffee helps you?" she smiled.

"Oh, it does, just not as much as this. It's like when I am jumping around buildings, the breeze and the air is singing me a different song every day. And I want other people to know what thay feeling is like by making instruments. Being a superhero really gives me more inspiration."

Vesperia smiled and took another glance at the city. She loved living in Paris. It was called the city of love for a reason.

"What about you?" Viperion asked.

"What about me?" Vesperia replied with a raised brow.

"Ladybug assigned us because we loved waking up early. What is your reason?"

Vesperia made a thoughtful face, looking up at the sky. "Hmm... I don't really know. I don't have a good reason for it. I just love waking up early because that means I can get a lot of things done in a day," she answered simply.

"Theh, I'd say that is a pretty good answer."

"I never imagined my life to be like... Well, this, before I moved here. If someone came to me and said that I would become a superhero, I would have called them delusional," Vesperia giggled.

"It came as a shock to me too when Ladybug first gave me a miraculous. But I love being one. Gives me a whole new sensation."

Their banter was cut short with Reality making his entrance. Both heroes got back on their feet and already had their weapons out. Viperion decided it's best not to waste his ability right now. The battle needed to begin first.

"Vesperia, Viperion. Good, at least this won't be too much of a hassle. The less experienced ones always crumble down so easily," Reality muttered. A butterfly symbol appeared in front of him.

"Get their miraculous. And be careful with Viperion. He has the power to turn back time with his second chance. And if Vesperia stings you, it's over," Shadow Moth warned.

"Noted..." Reality replied.

Reality decided to make the first move and conjuref up a shield around the platform the heroes were standing on, preventing them from having any escape routes. Viperion took note of how prepared this akuma is. They both knew they could not win this by themselves. Even if they somehow miraculously won, Ladybug had to be there to cleanse the akuma or else there would be hundreds of Reality's flying around Paris. According to Ladybug, an akuma can multiply if it is not purified.

"Vesperia, don't be afraid to use venom at any given time. If something goes wrong, I can just turn back time. But wait until I use my power."

Vesperia nodded and got out her spinning top, spinning it the way Ladybug does with her yo-yo.
