Note: Here's some tranquil music that will make this chapter better to read. Goes with the vibe
Zoe slowly opened her eyes, having no idea where she was or how she got there. All that she saw around her was a red space. She was laying on a platform hovering in the air. The red sky with lightning crackling all around made her feel uneasy, however there was no sound to the lightning bolts. Where was she?
Pollen came out of her shirt, being just as confused as her owner. Millions of years of life and for the first time, a place was completely foreign to her. She had been to China, America, Africa, all around the world, but never in a place such as this.
"Where are we?" Zoe wondered, walking to the edge of the platform to get a better view.
"I don't know, my queen. I have never been to this place before." Pollen replied.
"Marinette!? Adrien! Alya! Anyone!" Zoe called out, but there was no reply.
"We must have gotten separated." Pollen said.
"Well, no use in just standing around. We should keep going." Zoe suggested.
"And go where exactly?" Pollen raised a brow.
Zoe shrugged and leapt off the platform, landing on another one that was right below. Seeing another platform in front of her, she took a running start and jumped, but what she did not react to was the spiked ball coming at her from below and hitting her. She fell into the abyss, but a yellow light surrounded her and she was teleported back onto the platform.
"What just happened?" she wondered.
"I... Don't know. Are you okay?" Pollen asked.
"Yeah, surprisingly, I'm fine. I didn't feel any pain from getting hit. Odd... Got to be more careful though."
"Hey, what is that?" Pollen pointed at a pillar on the next platform. The pillar had a red orb on top and a panel at the bottom. Strange, it was not there before. Zoe observed the spiked ball going up and down, waiting for the perfect moment. Once that moment came, she ran to the edge and jumped, landing safely on the next platform and next to the pillar.
"It just has a hand scanner. Or something like that."
"Careful, my queen." Pollen advised.
"Don't worry, Pollen."
Zoe put her right hand onto the panel and the orb on top generated a holographic screen with text on it. Curious, she began to read it.
"Dear Diary: I have been coping with the living conditions of the academy. I have to admit, having friends definitely helps. Laara told me that she and a couple of others are planning to do a play and she wants me to have a part in it. I am not much for entertaining others, but seeing the smile on Laara's face was enough to persuade me.
The strangest thing happened to me yesterday. I know that I am different than everyone. I know it, my friends know it, everyone knows it. But yesterday, I swear I had a red flash in front of me, like I saw the world completely burnt down. It concerns me, but luckily I am not one to hold my emotions in and luckily the academy has a therapist in case we need it. I'll be seeing her tomorrow."
"W-what did I just read?" Zoe wondered.
"Laara... Laara... That name sounds very familiar somehow..." Pollen mumbled to herself.
