"You're the queen of the waves!" said Pippi. "Thanks." I replied. "She's cheating." said Emily. "You're just afraid to lose." I replied. "I'm not." she said angrily. "This wave is mine." I replied and stood up on my surfboard. I made a perfect jump and smiled proudly. "Show off." muttered Emily.
I just rolled my eyes. We are never getting back together. Then I heard something. I looked back and saw a shark. I immediately started swimming back to the beach but too late. The shark took a bite of my surfboard and I fell into the water.

Jim's: POV
"PEARL!!!" I screamed panicked. I was about to swim out but Adam stopped me. "Don't ever think about it." he said strictly. "She's in danger." I replied. "We don't know how many sharks there are out there, you can be killed as well." said Adam. "I don't care." I replied and ran to the water. But instead of finding Pearl, I saw a orange tail. I couldn't believe my eyes.

I came back to the beach and Pippi hugged me. "I'm fine, sharks are no match for me." I said. "Jim got worried." she replied. "Oh no." I said.
I heard him talking to dad. "I'm telling you, mermaids are real." said Jim. "What's your proof?" asked Adam. "I saw one." he said. "It was probably just a dolphin or a fish." replied dad. "I swear." said Jim. "No one will believe you." replied Adam. Then he called at us and we went back home.
