"I......I choose......Charlie", I said cowering in fear.

"Oh......you would want to spend eternity with my dear granddaughter, the one who died trying to get you here. Very well, I understand where your reasoning is coming from, she was one of the only Demons who had an Angel in her soul, she cared for you even in your shortcomings. Granted she did have a girlfriend and now she is no longer with us, but maybe.....maybe you and another version of her can be happy.....I hope", God said while snapping his fingers.

A door appeared right next to him, one that was grayish in color. As it opened, inside was nothing, just a black floor and the whole skyline was grey. Sure there were mountainous regions inside but nothing other than that.

"So.....this is eternity then?"

"You won't be alone though......and I'm sure you will treat her right, before you go I'm going to be needing this", he said before snapping his hands and the knife that I had in my pocket appeared in his grip.

With that I entered the door, knowing full well that I will be stuck in this purgatory for the end of time.

"Yes, to live with a good demon that cared for you and everyone she came in contact with. But in truth, is that really happiness, do you just want someone to care for you instead of collaborating together. Maybe you will be overbearing, maybe you will be too clingy, your choices from now on will decide on that. To live without giving the to the one you love isn't love, it is merely a symbiotic relationship animals follow"

Now.....

"This is going nowhere, I'm glad that you are beginning to understand.....what everything has happened beforehand and why everything is happening now. But you need to start moving on, it's been nearly ten years and you're nearly twenty, it's time to move on from that terrible incident even if it claws away at you Arthur."

"You're right.......you're right. I've been stuck living a fantasy.....you're right......I just thought that maybe......maybe if I just denied that he died then......maybe my heart wouldn't hurt", I said, beginning to cry.

"I know how hard it is, kid believe me.....your brother was a favorite client of mine, he was sort of a son I never had. But even now, it's not healthy to dwell on the past, it's healthy to learn from everything we've experienced in life and.....we'll learn from those experiences so we could make a better future for the people we hold dear in our life.

"I'm gonna miss him....."

"I know you will.....we all will.....there's something I'd like to give you Arthur, it's your brother's.....I'm still not sure why he gave it to me but....I think I know why. It was never for me, it was meant for you.....a sort of memento in case something ever happened to him.", Dave said while handing me an old smartphone.

"I.....thank you Dave.....thank you."

"Arty.....know this.....people care for you, your parents love you, and I'm pretty sure if your brother were here, he would still want to play around with you and make you laugh."

"He would do that hahaha", I laughed a little before getting up from the seat.

"Oh, you're going to leave?"

"Yeah, I've got to pay my respects to my brother, not like my parents can do it."

"Work not paying much?"

"Yeah, it's the only way we still have the house at this point."

I put the phone in my pocket and went towards the door, I opened it and began to exit the building. I went down the stairs and began to walk towards the cemetery, the fresh snow crunching beneath me. I went over to the graveyard and saw the tombstone instigating where my brother was buried. I stood over the grave before taking out the locket, his face was in it as I opened it. It's funny, to think we took this at a Christmas party we hosted. I kissed the locket, closed it, and began saying a prayer for him.
