Post-apocalyptic Earth 2037
My memory is fragmented and almost nothing remains in my head from before last week. The woman named Jane Hail has done something to me, as per the word of the sorceress Chloe Blackheart. All I know is that Jane Hail must have done it. The smart thing to do now is to start writing things down so I won't forget later. I'd like to thank the previous owner of this diary, whoever you may be, because now I can start my journey.
I'll use this diary to help me remember things and document the important details. The future is right around the corner, but so is the war... the war I apparently started.
Chloe Blackheart sent me to the year 2037, and I only know a little about the strange apocalyptic world that surrounds me. The Eclipse was more than just a small science group that turned into a military operation destined to destroy the world. They have a much greater part to play in this story, as do Chloe Blackheart, Scarlett Hendrix, Jane Hail, and myself.
This is the Black Vulture, approving this journal entry and i'll write again soon... very soon.
The barbed wire doors began to open and the men at the top of the corroded steel radio towers shouted, "Open the gate!" for those at the bottom to hear. The workers at the bottom worked the cranks, slowly opening the gates themselves which were constructed from thick sheets of metal, emitting a low growling sound of machinery.
Soldiers at the top of the castle-like structure shone blinding lights up into the night sky to see the bottom of the helicopter about to land.
The helicopter's blades cut through the wind and the landing struts hit the mud, digging themselves into the earth. A man poked his head out of the sliding door, his long dark coat swaying in the wind as his short brown hair did the same. His hazel eyes met with the main gate of the base, and he gave a small smile, reminiscing about the humble beginnings of The Eclipse when he and his brother had first started it. He had come a long way in his career as one of the leaders of the new world order.
The Eclipse was the new law, the new everything. He knew the world he and his brother created was brutal, but it had become the new normal in the midst of apocalyptic surroundings, monsters, and cold weather. The man stepped out into the snow, walking towards the front gate, while the bright lights shone down upon him and his boots squelched through the frosty mud. His hands were deep in his pockets, trying to stay warm, and hot air escaped his nostrils with every cold breath.
The helicopter took off again, disappearing into the darkness while the man stepped inside the gates. The sound of humming electricity could be heard as he looked up, seeing the futuristic blue glow of an energy fence on top of the walls. The gates closed behind him with the loud sound of metal scraping together, while workers and soldiers began to recognize the celebrity walking through their grounds.
Inside the heavily protected walls were old preoutbreak buildings that's used to be shopping malls, car parks and empty rotting streets of a city long forgotten. All they were now was property of The Eclipse. As more eyes drew the man continued down the main dirt path as soldiers huddled around campfires playing cards and smoking tobacco.
He strolled down the main path through the military grounds, the man couldn't help but feel dwarfed by the massive buildings that surrounded him. The DNA research facility, the Bioengineering lab, and the weapons development center were just a few of the many structures that dotted the area. However, his attention was soon drawn towards the end of the path, where the truck hanger stood.
It was impossible to miss the oversized wheels of the large bulky vehicles that were being modified within. As he drew closer, his eyes fell upon an alien-looking turret lifted onto the roof of one of the trucks, serving as a formidable cannon. The man was transfixed as he watched the show, observing as an officer barked out commands, urging the crane to lower the heavy weapon into place.
