Stiles' POV

"Come on buddy, time to get up!" I hear my Dad yell through my bedroom door. I groan into my pillow thinking about how shit today is going to be.

"Please Dad!" I beg, "just one more week?" But I know the answer before it has even left his lips.

"No Stiles, it's time." His voice was firm, making no room for argument, so I throw the covers off of me and roll out of bed. Today is my first day back at school since the Nogitsune was forced out of me and since... I've been off school for two weeks and haven't left my house in that time either. The Pack have been harassing me none stop, Scott especially, but I had nothing to say. What could I even say, after what I had done? I shake my head, throwing away those thoughts before they consume me and step into my shower, but even I know it takes something more than tap water to wash away sin.

...

"See you later Son" my Dad smiles at me reassuringly, as I climb out of his police cruiser, apparently I'm not trusted enough to drive at the moment because I am, and I quote 'distracted'. Which, yes, okay, fair, but also, it's a loss of independence. There's a few people staring as I shut the door on my Dad's car, giving him a brief wave goodbye, showing up in a marked police car generally does draw attention, but then when I am spotted people look away, at least I am still classed as uninteresting. Everyone knows I'm the Sheriff's kid so the attention fades almost as quickly as it arrives. Until the Pack spot me that is.

"STILES!" Scott yells excitedly and bounds across the car park like an excited puppy, the rest of the Pack in tow. I force myself to smile at them and let them pass me around in a flurry of quick hugs, trying not to think about how claustrophobic they're making me feel. "Bro, I texted you like a million times!" Scott whines, giving me his big, brown, sad eyes and I feel the hole in my chest constrict.

"S-sorry" I mumble, breaking eye contact and focusing on the floor. "I... I needed some time" I add on, trying to come up with the right words. A hand grips my shoulder, squeezing gently.

"It's alright bro, I- we understand" Scott hums and I cast a quick look at everyone else, they're all wearing the same sympathetic expressions as they look back at me.

"How are you doing?" Lydia asks, taking my hand in hers and adding a slight pressure that was meant to be comforting, but makes me want to rip my hand out of her grip and scream at them all to stop touching me. Instead I give a tight smile, not meeting her gaze as I whisper out a meagre;

"Fine." A few weeks ago I'd have swooned at the touch of this girl, my heart wound have beat a thousand beats per minute from the excitement of her looking at me, at talking to me. Now... now I feet nothing. I can see out of the corner of my eye her mouth open to protest at my one word answer when the bell rings making the wolves flinch and giving me my opportunity to leave. "I better get to class" I mutter, slipping past them to head into school and away from them all. I don't look back, but I can feel their eyes burning into the back of my head as I go.

...

The morning had passed rather quickly and thankfully the three lessons I had this morning were Pack free, but now it was lunch and they were all expecting me in the cafeteria and I didn't have my jeep to go and hide in, so, biting the bullet, I amble into the cafeteria, where instantly I could feel all their eyes on me, watching as I walk around the table and take a seat between Scott and Boyd.

"So, is everyone coming to Pack bonding night tonight?" Erica asks, looking around at everyone to see if there were any objections. I curse silently, of course they were expecting me to go, and there was nothing I could say to get out of it. I hadn't seen our Alpha for two weeks and he had only contacted me once since the... incident... I had not heard from him since.
