Stiles' POV

The next few days go by in a blur. Derek wakes me up, eats breakfast with me, takes me to school. I hang out with Duke at lunch and then Derek picks me up after school. Then we hang with the Pack and it goes around on repeat. Derek's alway slightly tense when he picks me up but calms down later on, insisting I always shower as soon as I get home because I lose the "Pack smell" during the day, but he doesn't say anything to Lydia or Danny. But I suppose they spend all day with Pack and I don't. Maybe that's why. Either way, it's Thursday now and there's news going round about a party tonight at some girls house and 'everyone's invited.'

"So do you wanna go with me?" Duke asks, taking a bite of his sandwich. We're in his Chevy, eating lunch like we've done everyday since we met.

"Oh, erm. Tonight's kind of, group bonding night..." I trail off because this isn't the first time I've had to say no this week because of the Pack. I'd say yes but I spent so long away from them after... the incident and things are finally going back to normal. Duke huffs.

"Seriously? You're ditching me again? You never want to hang out after school! It's like you don't even care about me." He snaps, crossing his arms and facing the other way.

"It's not that I don't want to!" I sigh, placing my hand on his thigh. It's the one I fractured punching Derek in the face, though I had to tell Duke that I fell because there's no signs of injury on Derek whatsoever and he's not Pack so he wouldn't understand. He turns in his seat and snatches my wrist up in his hand, squeezing tightly.

"Ow! Hey stop you're hurting me!" I cry, trying to pull away but he only grips tighter.

"You're coming to the party with me! Got it!" He seethes, and when I don't respond straight away he twists my arm painfully making me cry out.

"Yes, yes! I'll go with you! I promise!" There's tears streaming down my cheeks now but he finally lets me go.

"I'm sorry Stiles! I didn't mean to hurt you! I just care about you so much and it's like you never want to spend any time with me." I feel my heart constrict because I can see how me constantly saying no to plans would make him feel that way. "It won't happen again, I promise!" He whispers and reaches out slowly to cup my cheek. Really it's my fault for not putting him first. I lean my cheek against the palm of his hand and watch as he uses his other hand to wipe away my tears. "I'm sorry" he whispers, leaning forward to kiss my forehead.

"S'okay. I should have thought about it from your perspective" I tell him and then the bell rings and he pulls away.

"I'll pick you up at 8, see you later." He says, before running off into the building, leaving me on my own.

...

I slide into Derek's car, my wrist throbbing from before and Derek must sense something is wrong because he's frowning at me very seriously.

"What's wrong?" He asks, eyeing me closely like he can figure it out just by his powers of observation.

"Wrist hurts" I grumble, and because he's frowning at me like that's ridiculous because it should be healing nicely by now, "I fell on it" I lie. Derek grunts like he believes me, because let's face it, I am clumsy and then takes my hand in his own to leech away the pain.

"Only you" he snorts, as he starts the engine and lets go of me briefly so that he can change gear.

"I'm going to a party tonight, with Duke... we've not hung out outside school before and I want to get to know him better." I tell Derek, whose jaw tenses but doesn't object.

"Would your Dad normally let you go?" He asks, and I have to bite back a smile because only Derek would be treating me like a child about a party when he knows I've helped him fight alpha werewolves on my weekends. I giggle.
