"Mom! Mom! Mom! Dad! Dad! Dad!" Renji had basically plastered his face against the window whilst he watched them pull into the camp drop off area, remembering what Byakuya had promised him a year ago, that soon he'd be able to play with Rukia.
He had told his parents about the activities they did, about the friends he made, about the name that the timid twelve, now thirteen year old had called him. His parents were a little worried that he'd end up getting bullied by this older kid; but hearing more about him reassured them that he would take care of their spunky child.
Once out of the car and at the sign in post Renji surveyed the area for his new friend, elatedly tugging on his dad's arm and pointing to the side. "Dad! Dad! It's Yaka!" Hearing how impatient his child was the man looked up from the sheet he had been writing on and turned his attention to a thirteen year old who held a four year old's hand, kneeling down to speak to her, pointing in different directions as if he was trying to explain things.
"Go ahead and talk to them, Mom will go with you," the father looked to his wife, who nodded and took her son's hand, following his lead towards the Kuchiki siblings.
"Now, you're almost old enough to attend, but Mother and Father want you to wait another year or two, understood?" "Yes Byakuya," trying to keep his little sisters attention was hard enough at her age, but with all of the visual and audible stimulation going on made it even more difficult.
Well, it was until she saw a bright head of red hair rush towards her and her older brother, looking up to her brother "who's that?" She pointed at the annoying ball of energy that Byakuya was trying to tell her about earlier, he just sighed and looked at the monkey child, faintly smiling.
"He's someone that you'll be able to play with once you start coming here, his name is Renji." "Yaka!!" The smaller spawn let go of his mother's hand and launched at the oldest of the three children, hugging him tightly "Yaka! You're back!" "Get off of me Monkey," the eldest Kuchiki sibling tried to push the persistent seven year old away, but that only made his grip tighter.
Only a couple hours has passed since everyones' parents had dropped them off, much like the year prior the boys and girls were in their cabins; waisting as much time as they could doing whatever they wanted.
One of the main boys who picked on Renji, was a thirteen year old named Gin, with the face closely resembling a snake with it's eyes closed, that smirk of his almost reaching from ear to ear.
This boy watched the red head, almost as if that boy he gawked at was a small mouse he was waiting to eat. He rested on the top bunk he had selected, laying on his stomach whilst resting his cheek on his hand, the ginger he refused to take his eyes off of sat in his own bunk across from him, talking to a very unresponsive Byakuya.
The two older boys knew of each other; attending the same school and even shared a class or two. The meaner of the pair didn't understand why the almost mute child even responded, or acknowledged the small child who annoyed almost everyone; including the counselors.
This snake of a thirteen year old gently tapped his fingers against his cheek, leaning his head from side to side, thinking about what he could do to enjoy his month out in the middle of nowhere.
