Unpredictable - thoma x reader

[5] Focus

It's been a few weeks since the incident that happened over at the teahouse, and a week since you've seen Thoma.

The air outside was dark, little bit of drizzle coming down. You've been outside training with Sara for the past hour or so but you were distracted.

"You're not concentrating," Sara dropped her stance and glared at you, "what's up?"

You sighed letting out a huff, running your fingers through your hair. "It's nothing.." you muttered, looking down at the little glaze lily near your feet.

The sounds of your friend's footsteps were slow, the look she had was of concern but quickly wiped away when she noticed you looking at her.

She wouldn't admit it but she did know you well enough to know that something was bothering you. Very keen and observant, expected of the leader of the Tenryou commission.

"Whatever it is snap out of it, or I won't tell you anything for today's agenda."

The brunette was right. You need to get it together and stop side tracking to last nights events.

You were in your room when you heard knocking on your door.

"Coming!" you announced and when you opened it, you were surprised to see Thoma standing there. There was a look that you couldn't figure out.

"Hey," he muttered, facing away from you slightly, "we need to talk.. can I come in?" he looked up just to see you nod and made his way in .

There was awkward silence and you broke it first, "what brings you here so late in the night?" you walked around him to go to sit down on your bed, patting it for him but he shakes his head.

Thoma cleared his throat and shoved his hands in his pockets, "what we did a few weeks ago.. it's been eating me up, I-I need to let it out."

You furrowed your brows but proceeded to nudge him on with a nod.

"What we did was wrong and we shouldn't have done.. what we did." he let out a shaky sigh, closing his eyes to take deep breaths in.

You, of course, were expecting this kind of outcome but for it to actually be voiced out loud it was scary. Not only that but you were with someone already not by choice but,

"...are you saying you regret it?"

Now he finally looked up, eyes widened and he gaped. He took a step forward before stepping back shaking his head, "N-No! But you're with Ayato now. I can't do that to him or be in the middle of things."

He was right. If this continued not only will someone catch on but it could lead to something really dangerous.

For now, you'll keep your distance from him.

"Will you tell me what we're doing today?"

Your friend looked over at you and put a hand on her hip, "you'll be accompanied by Thoma to check on everything for the upcoming festival."
