[chapter seventeen.hannah's pov]

How we managed to haul Jennif inside the building was beyond me, but we did it. She was now lying on the concrete floor surrounded by her own blood and a crying Destiny. Ashton was patching up the wound and attempting to stop as much of the bleeding as possible, while Luke and I tried to shush a wailing Luna.

"Where's the other girl?" He whispered.

I furrowed my brows and looked at him confused before searching the room to find that Antonella was no longer present. My hold on Luna tightened and I brought her up to my chest in a protective manor. Luke pulled out his gun and made his way over to the double doors, peaking his head around before fully exiting the room. My heartbeat increased and I became frightened.

What if Antonella's hurt? Or worse, dead?

"Hannah?" Ashton said, turning to look at me.

"Yeah?"

"There's nothing I can do."

I nodded, "I know."

The curly haired boy placed his hand on Destiny's shoulder, sending her a sympathetic smile before standing up and allowing her space to say goodbye. The poor girl. She had already lost one of her friends and now another one was about to go. I don't think I could handle it if it were me going through all that.

Ashton made his way over to the table I was leant against and stood beside me, his gaze burning holes into the side of my head. I knew what he wanted, he wanted to talk about what had happened. But I wasn't having any of it. Sure, he'd saved my life and I was utterly thankful, but he was still a díck.

"We need to talk," He started.

"Do we? Or are you just gonna blame me for this mess as well?" I spat angrily.

Ashton sighed deeply and ran a hand through his hair.

"No, wait.. You've come to tell me how stupid it was of me to reveal such private things about my past that I've never told anyone before."

"Hannah... Please, just-"

"No, Ashton. I'm sick of you yelling at me and making me feel worthless. That's twice- twice you've lost your temper with me and made me feel pathetic."

"I know! God, I know! And I'm sorry! Please, just hear me out!"

"Save it for someone who actually gives a shit."

I turned on the balls of my feet and started up the metal stairs leading to what once was the controls room for the cafeteria we were staying in. I seated Luna on one of the two chairs inside the small room and sat down on the other, trying as hard as possible to fight the tears that were threatening to spill.

God, I'm so weak. I always cry.

-

"Hannah?" A voice whispered.

I jolted awake and frantically glanced around to find Luke standing behind me with Luna is his arms. He squatted down to my level and I smiled.

"What happened?"

"You and Luna fell asleep for almost four hours," He chuckled.

"Sorry," I sheepishly replied, rubbing my eyes.

"Don't be. You're cute when you're sleeping," He replied.

"So you were watching me?"

"No. I was observing. There's a difference."

"You're such a dork."

"But I'm you're dork." He winked.

I rolled my eyes before stretching out my legs and standing up from the seat. But I immediately regretted it because a splitting pain formed at the lower half of my stomach, causing me to double over.

"Wow, babe, are you okay?" Luke panicked.

He rushed to my side and lowered down so he was looking up at me, concern contorting his gorgeous features. I clenched my eyes shut and managed to wheeze out a 'no' in reply. My time of the month had returned. Again.

"What is it?"

"Cramps. Really painful cramps."

"Well... Look on the bright side... We could try for a baby of our own."

I looked at him, "What the fuck is wrong with you?"

"I'm kidding."

I couldn't believe it. The one, the only, Alex Gaskarth was alive and standing before me. I was so far in the shock that I had began to fumble over random words, my eyes wide and mouth ajar.

"Let me guess... You're a fan?"

"Y-yeah," I squeaked.

"Do you mind if I join you and your mates? I lost my band a while back and have been searching for somewhere safe to stay for weeks. It won't be long- just a couple days," He explained and I began to nod my head vigorously.

"Of course, man. Stay as long as you want."

"Thanks, man." Alex raised his hand for high-five, before proceeding with that guy hug males do when they see each other. You know the one where you high-five, hug and then slap each other on the back? Yeah, that.

I just hugged Alex Gaskarth! Oh my fudging god!

"Umm.. Come this way," I explained and led him toward Shakila and Calum.

Shakila was first to notice Alex. Her eyes widened farther than humanly possible before rolling back into her head as she collapsed limp in Calum's arms. Did she just faint? Or did she die? I wasn't sure.

"What in the- Alex Gaskarth!" Calum yelled. "Wait.. Shakila! Baby, are you okay?!" The brunette lad began to shake Shakila violently before grabbing a bottle of water and pouring it's contents over all her face.

Shakila sat up quickly, chocking out the water that had pooled in her mouth and some that had travelled down her throat.

"Dont... Ever... Do... That again," She growled.

"I thought you were dead," Calum replied.

"Alex Gaskarth, everybody!" I announced and Shakila fell limp again. I swear she was dead this time.
