PICTURE: THE CAR
[chapter twenty . hannah's pov]
I heard voices. I couldn't exactly make out what they were saying, but I knew exactly who they belonged to. I opened my eyes to find Michael, Calum, Ashton and Luke all wide awake while Shakila stood in the entrance of the small hospital room with a bandage wrapped around her wound.
"Luke," I breathed out.
"Hannah," He replied and smiled.
I stood to my feet and made my way toward the side of his bed. He reached his hand out and I took it in mine, pressing a tender kiss to the soft surface. Ashton, Michael, Calum and Shakila left the room, closing the door softly behind them and I took this as my signal to sit down and pull my beautiful boy in for a hug. He gladly accepted it.
"How long have you all been awake for?" I asked.
"Not too long. Did you sleep well?"
"Yeah, I guess so."
I hadn't slept well at all. For almost two days I was forced to watch three men work their way at saving Luke. I would have thought it would be simple, but it wasn't. There was internal bleeding and numerous blood clots which took hours to remove. I sat outside this room for what felt like an eternity, but I was just glad Luke was alive and well.
"Are we safe now? We will be okay?" He asked and it brought tears to my eyes, because yes, for once we were safe. For once we would be okay. We weren't the only people alive. We didn't have to be afraid anymore. The zombies stood no chance against us. We were inside a concreted behind sixteen layers of concrete with barb wire lining the the walls.
"Yeah... We're all good, Luke."

Somehow, I had found myself curled into Luke's figure while he protectively wrapped his arms around my body. I felt incredibly at piece. I felt safe. I felt happy. I felt like, finally, I could live my life without any issues. There was no fear of death. I knew nothing could harm us.
He told me how he saw flashes of his past, as though he were on the brink of dying. I told him how I almost broke, watching Ashton carry him through the confinements of the building we were currently kept inside. I told him how we met All Time Low. I told him how this place was being run by incredibly dedicated scientists with no bodily fat what-so-ever.
As if on cue, Derek, the main leader of this facility, entered the room.
"It's lovely to see you are awake, Mr. Hemmings," he said to the blonde boy with his face furrowed into my neck, before turning to me. "As for you, Mrs. Hemmings-" My heart leaped out of my chest. We weren't married. Why would he say that? "We have arranged a daily defensive work out class to help with your strength and abilities to get out of tough environments. We will also provide the both of you with a private apartment to share, along with enough food, plentiful fresh clothing and an extra bed for your daughter."
Luna! I had completely forgotten about her!
"Thank you, Derek," I replied calmly.
"It's my pleasure," he spoke before exiting the room.
"He thinks we're married," Luke whispered.
"I think he might have assumed that after Luna kept continuously calling us Mummy and Daddy." He didn't say anything in return. Instead, he tightened his grip and pulled me closer as if I weren't already pressed firmly against his front.
"I don't mind that at all."
⇢ two days later
Once Luke had somewhat healed and gained a small fraction of his strength back, Derek and Stefan moved him into our new 'house'. We were reunited with Luna, who was more than excited to see us, and began to settle in. I set Luke up on a small lounge in the centre of the room with countless blankets bunched on top of him. Luna was sleeping on his lap and I was preparing lunch.
"What're you making?" Luke questioned.
"PB and J," I replied.
"Ugh, I haven't had that in ages," He chuckled.
"No. Stop," Luna said in an angered tone, holding Luke's chest in place while sending him a grumpy expression. Luke laughed again and the blonde child grabbed his face in her small hands, intensifying her features but, much to her dismay, she looked way too cute to be afraid of.
"You're so adorable, Luna," I cooed.
She returned to her previous position.
A knock sounded from the door and I placed the knife I was currently holding down on the counter. I made my way to the entrance and opened the door to reveal a grinning Calum.
"Hey, Cal," I greeted.
"Hey, Hannah. We have a surprise for you in the construction room."
And with that, the brunette boy turned around and left. I faced Luke, sending him a raised eyebrow, but he shrugged and stood to his feet with Luna rested on his hip, following closely behind as we headed toward the construction room.
I hadn't been inside the room before. All I knew was that it was where they made our weapons. Whoever 'they' was, was beyond my point of knowledge.
We entered the foreign room and I scanned the area, catching sight of Calum, Shakila, Michael, Ashton, Destiny and Derek all stood behind some sort of large figure hidden under a black material. They turned their gaze to Luke, Luna and I and a huge grin contorted along each of their features.
"We thought you might like this," Derek started and made his way over to the centre of the room, collecting some of the material in his hand before pulling it back to reveal the most beautiful sight I had ever seen- apart from Luke's face, Luke's smile, Luke's eyes, oh and Luke's ass- basically Luke in general, but that's besides the point.
There, perched before me, was a Nissan GTR R35 with numerous machine guns attached to the roof while metal bars lined the windows. I released a high pitched squeal, resembling that of a teenage drama queen meeting her idol for the first time. To me, this was just like that. I ran toward the car and threw myself onto the hood with my arms wrapped around it.
"This is the best day ever!"
