It had been approximately two weeks since that interesting day at the office with a certain little boy got rudely interrupted by an annoying girl, and yet I still hadn't gotten our conversation out of my head.

"You know, for a person who claims to want to disappear forever, you aren't doing a very good job," I humored, walking towards that all knowing smirk.

"Nice to see you too, Alex," she replied.

"Just tell me what you want, even though we both know you won't be getting it," I ordered nonchalantly as I took my seat behind my desk.

"Oh you know, just paying a little visit to my favorite almost-cousin. Oh wait, how'd that work out for you? Nevermind, it didn't," she laughed slyly.

She was acting very childishly.

"Boo hoo, if you think that's gonna get you a good reaction, then just leave. I'd call the police on you, but they let you go, didn't they?" I retorted.

"That's right, they so did," she smirked, "But my boys are still in there, and I need them out. Over five years is a long time, you know? I mean, I've been out for a while, but I need people."

"Clearly not long enough with you. And about your little pawns, well, I can't do anything about that. Even if I wanted to, the evidence can't lie that they were drug dealers. You're just lucky you had people to do your dirty work and all you has was drugs on you," I grimaced. "Not a gun linking you to an attempted murder."

"Well then, we'll see about that."

"Bye bye now, Miss James. If you want to schedule another meeting, please call my secretary," I winked then pressed the intercom button on my desk. "Janet, let her out please. Now."

I shuddered, getting annoyed just remembering it.

Anyway, since it was not a busy day at the office, I decided to do a store visit to see how sales were going in person. Gotta make sure the company was doing well.

I had Jonathan, my family's bodyguard, drive me and keep me company for the day. He'd been our bodyguard for a long time, and after our old driver retired, Jonathan got a raise and more to do.

My parents seemed to think we couldn't handle ourselves, especially since that night my sister almost got killed, so they never wanted us alone.

It didn't bother me so much anymore since they allowed us without bodyguards when we were with our friends, like when I have coffee with Sophie or that time I went to the mall with Luke. I was okay at the office too.

Plus, you get kind of used to it.

"Can you go park the car, Jonathan? I'll go in now, I really have to pee," I pleaded as we arrived at the store I decided to visit. "There's security there anyway, nothing's gonna happen to me."

"Alright, the peeing part was unnecessary, but okay, I promise I'll be there as soon as possible. Good thing we have that parking space saved," he replied, unlocking the door.

I got out of the car as quickly as I could, shooting him a smile, and getting into the store.

I walked up to the security guy right as I entered. "Hi, um, I really need to get to the restroom, can you tell me where it is?"

"I'm sorry. The restroom is for employee use only. You're gonna have to go to the gas station across the street or the McDonald's in the next block to use the restroom," he replied.
