"Your driver is coming in around fifteen minutes," Jonathan told me from the phone once I picked it up. "I suggest you finish up and get your butt downstairs soon."

"What?" my eyes widened at what I heard. "It's Tuesday. I leave late on Tuesdays."

"Well, you leave on time today," he corrected me. "The driver is on a strict schedule this morning, and you have to leave in fifteen minutes."

I groaned, "Can't I just drive myself today?"

"You know your father wouldn't want that," he reminded me. "He said he wants to see you today, and he'll be in the car when the driver fetches you."

"I thought you always drive him," I voiced out my thoughts.

"Not today," he clarified. "I have to take your mother to the airport."

"Fine," I grumbled. "I'll go now. I have to get ready. Bye."

I got up from my bed and rushed to get ready.

I threw on the first decent thing I found in my closet after I got out of the shower, swiped on some lipstick and hurriedly put on some mascara so I didn't look so dead.

I finished just on time and got out of the elevator into the lobby of my apartment building right when the car came.

"Hey, kiddo," my dad greeted me once I entered the car.

"Hi, Dad," I smiled. "I didn't know you were coming today. I was supposed to leave later."

"Sorry about that," he apologized. "It was kind of a last minute thing. I wanted to see you. It's not the same without you at the house."

"I've been gone for a year already, Dad," I reminded him.

"I guess I still haven't gotten used to it," he shrugged.

We continued talking until I was dropped off at the office, and they drove off.

"Good morning, miss," someone greeted me.

I returned her smile and continued walking to the elevator, getting off on the floor of my office.

"You're early today," Janet commented, entering my office with me.

"I know," I replied. "It was a last minute thing. What's the rundown for today?"

"Well, you have two meetings today. One will be at two with the research team, and the second one is right after that with the models for the photoshoot two weeks from now. You also have a scheduled call at ten thirty with one of our investors," she told me my plans for the day like she always does.

"Great. Can you get me a coffee please?" I requested. "I didn't have..."

My mind was spinning and my knees were getting weak. That couldn't be good.

"Are you okay?" she walked towards me. "You look a little pale."

"Yeah, I'm okay," I reassured her, walking to my chair. "I'm just feeling a little dizzy."

"Oh no, Alex, you're going to faint," she ran to me. "Sit down. I'm going to get you some water."

"Okay, thanks," I smiled at her weakly before fanning myself. "Fast please."

My vision was going dark, and it started to get hard for me to breathe.

Not long after, I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore, and I let the darkness envelope me.
